Sourse- New Mutants v1 #39

After traumatizing experience of Secret War events the psyche of New Mutants is shattered and ruined. Their mentor, Magneto, has no other choise but to send them to the best mental surgeon avaliable- Emma Frost, the White Queen of Hellfire Club.
And she almost succeeds with that task...

Just do add on to that

New Mutants #38 (Volume 1)
(April 1986)
(Writer: Chris Claremont Artist: Rick Leonardi)

The New Mutants were murdered and then resurrected by the Beyonder in Secret Wars (Volume 2) #8 and #9.

The mental trauma was so severe that Magneto and the White Queen(All the way in her Massachusetts Academy) were picking up on their nightmares and psychic cries.

In order to save his students Magnetounder the influence of Empath's abilities takes the White Queen up on her offer. (We also have another off hand reference to where Emma stands in terms of age. Not to mention we should also look at her older Bio on page 4 of this thread for more on this topic.)

New Mutants #39 (Volume 1)
(May 1986)
(Writer: Chris Claremont Artist: Keith Pollard)

We then have the White Queen perform immense psychic surgery on the New Mutants pulling them out of their Psychic Shock, the surgery itself is a success their minds were healed (See next post for confirmation in New Mutants #40 (Volume 1)) however there was another problem which will be explored in the next post.

New Mutants #40 (Volume 1)
(June 1986)
(Writer: Chris Claremont Artist: Jackson Guice)

What Emma overlooked?

Healing the minds of the New Mutants from their traumatic encounter with the all powerful Beyonder is one thing. Healing the damage down to their hearts and souls in the figurative sense is another.
The Psychic Surgery was a complete success the New Mutants minds were whole again. However through a supportive role Magneto was able to help overcome the emotional ordeal.

And we see more craftiness from the White Queen. She ends up looking like the good guy at the end of it all.

Telepathic Sedation

Divided We Stand
(16th April 2008)
(Writer: Christopher YostArtist: David LaFuente)

Emma welcomes Hellion out of his coma, he freaks and she sedates him telepathically. Scott and Emma then go vacationing in the Savage Land. (Take note that Julian is Emma's favourite and that there's more to this then meets the eye.)

Hippie Emma

Uncanny X-Men #497
(22nd April 2008)
(Writer: Ed Brubaker Artist: Mike Choi)

In the last issue Emma protected herself and Scott from the Psychic Pulse that's taken over the city.
In order to fit in more Emma then psychically camouflagin both her and Scott so they are perceived as hippies. She then assesses the damage done to the city as the psychic pulse spreads throughout it and realizes that whoever/whatever has done this is either off the charts powerful or has lost control of their powers. We know that it's the former because the Goddess is shown to be well within control of her powers.
Emma scans for the cause of the psychic pulse, her probing causes the Goddess to keel over in pain who eventually shuts Emma out of her head. The Police under the influence of the Goddess attack both Scott and Emma and they deal with the situation quite easily.

Emma Frost engages Exodus in telepathic combat so that niether are able to deploy their other powers. They stalemate.

Cyclops then orders Emma to tell the New X-Men to engage the Marauders in combat. Emma and Exodus are still at a stalemate. Dust is inhaled by Exodus and cuts up his lungs from the inside assisting Emma in taking him down.

Exodus's other powers blocked by Emma but not Charles?

X-Men Legacy #210
(30th April 2008)
(Writer: Mike Carey Artist: Greg Land & Scot Eaton)

I thought this was a pretty interesting observation 😖hifty:. In his fight against Emma Frost, Exodus stated that he could not access his other powers but in his fight with Xavier he was able to access his telekinesis. (The reason why Exodus didn't kill Xavier with it was because he wasn't trying to fight, hurt or kill Charles, he wanted to help him so that Xavier would take Magneto's place as leader of the Acolytes.(Which was clearly highlighted many times in both X-Men Legacy #209 and this issue but that's for the Exodus Respect Thread)

I'm a fan of telepaths and my favourite one is Emma (she's even my second most favourite x-man) and you're doing a wonderful job in this thread ...
BUT
... isn't this rather a feat for a Xavier Respect Thread? I mean, it's more like HE's putting out enormous amounts of psychic energy so that even a telepath thousands of miles away can pic them up, rather than Emma being enormously sensitive. 😕

You're right, it is for Exodus and Xavier. 😛

I can't really comment on how sensitive she is because I'm not sure if the Cuckoos and Blindfold sensed it as well. Heck S.H.I.E.L.D.S Psi Division might have sensed it as well along with Karma.

I was going for more of a range feat since she did tell us how far that the fight was (It was occuring thousands of miles away as opposed to a few miles away) and also just wanted to include any appearance of her in this thread 😛
She has other feats that span the globe though, see a few pages back, most of the stuff from Blinded by the Light, Claws and the Messiah Complex.(And I think she does something similar in Bru's hippie arc)

BTW Got you're PM, will work on that.

I am the last you have to convince of Emma's prowess in all terms of telepathy, including long range usage. 😉
I just reacted to your particular scan, because it was not so much in her favour as it was in Charles' and Exodus', though i have to admit that i enjoy EVERY scan of our (Ex) White Queen in action, that is posted here.

X-Man

Generation X #50
(April 1999)
(Writer: Jay Frerber Artist: Terry Dodson)

Emma locates and mind-links with Nate Grey who's in Dublin.

X-Man

X-Man #50
(April 1999)
(Writer: Terry Kavanagh Artist: Luke Ross)

(Note this is Nate with his TK, he though he lost it after Psi-War but has his TP. He just doesn't realize that he has it. He used it subconsciously though.)

Generation X #50
(April 1999)
(Writer: Jay Frerber Artist: Terry Dodson)

Also note that this Emma had a killer psychic hangover after sifting through some of Nate's troubled AoA memories.

X-Man

X-Man #50
(April 1999)
(Writer: Terry Kavanagh Artist: Luke Ross)

Emma telepthically destroys one of Dark Beasts creations that's supposed to telepathically relay information back to him.

And even though his hard light hologram fools Emma we still learn that Emma's able to Psi-tag her students just like she did with Dark Beast. And she was also able to locate Dark Beast even though his base was heavily psi-shielded.

Emma&Cyclops vs Mastermind III& hypnotised X-Men
Uncanny X-Men #499

Emma&Scott take on their mind controlled teammates. Emma manages to KO supposedly invulnerable Warpath when in diamond form. Then she leaves the rest of the figth to Scott and beats upgraded Martinique in TP battle (there's all the evidence that Martinique was one of mutants who benefited from aftereffects of HOM).

Emma\Storm moment from Astonishing X-Men #25

Posted that for the sake of fun. Also to show how marrying Black Panther can absolutely destroy the mind of woman. Emma's company>>>Panther's company.

New X-Base
Uncanny X-Men 500

Emma temporarly blinds the Mayor of San Francisco before giving her a tour on base- so that she won't reveal the location of said base to anyone.
Apparently, the Cerebra system of new base is the one of Emma's own design, not Xavier's (we all know how adept Emma is at psi-related technology so there's no wonder).

Worldwide psi-broadcast
Uncanny X-Men 500

Emma telepathically projects Cyclops' message to all the mutants remaining in the world without anything like Cerebra. The recepients include even TP-resistant mutants such as Mystique.

Having fun at the parties
Uncanny X-Men 500
It turns out Emma's very sensitive when it comes to X-related jokes. Another moment for the sake of LOL and at request of my dear darling colleague Exodus Cloak.

I'm honestly not trying to troll or anything, but I just noticed something on here. As far as I can tell, Warpath is nowhere near invulnerable. He just has heightened durability/strength/speed/reflexes/etc. But it would be very possible for him to be knocked out by Scott and Emma.

Anyway, I'm not discounting the feat, because she still does really well there. Just wanted to clear that up. 🙂
