I'm Back.Knowledge is Power. I can see how a corrupt Government and its media could spin a cure in a number of ways.
First, lets consider:
#1
A nation (especially not a separatist nation), if smart, does not go to other countries announcing to the media that they have just cured anything.
This is so for various reasons: could be considered "posturing" or an act of passive aggression by the leaders of said country. Also, capitalism is the oil that runs the machine. Said cure could be "bad news" for some major political players.
How would a cure for cancer be considered a bad thing? Hell, the tabacco industry would be thrilled to have a way to keep cancer away. That way they don't get as many lawsuits, and there customers live longer.
Originally posted by BlueDMightyWhy would they need to? Make the cure available in other countries and those other countries would be the target destination of those in seek of the cure.
[B]#2Being a separatist nation, they might not be keen on having a spike in "Cancer Cure" tourism.
Originally posted by BlueDMightyLike that's a real worry since people are already doing things like that in the comics.
[B]#3If the Cure fell into the wrong hands it could, potentially, be reverse engineered into something deadly.
No, as I said before. It just looks like Hudlin is trying to make him seem smart.
"He's so smart he has the cure for cancer!"
Which is fine and dandy except that he's being an ass about it.
"But he won't give it to anybody."
We know the real reason is that this little power play would effect the rest of the Marvel Universe. If there's a cure for cancer available then there would be no more cancer based storys. So you'd have to find some thing else to make a story on.
It was a foolish move on Hudlin's part. It makes T'Challa look like an ass. Especially in light of the Mar-vell thing.
