You need a merely adequate understanding of imagery, metaphor and simile that any public school kind would have, its not like we are talking about lyrical complexity that rivals William Blake. Its basic stuff.
That depends. For example if you say "I stay on your mind like a hat." Thats a pile of ****, its boring, it doesnt provoke aany emotion. If I say " I stay on your mind like a brain tumour.", that much better. A brain tumour is literially on your mind because it grows on your brain and brain tumour kills!
The reason why the brain tumour one is better is because brain tumours are associated with death and suffering and is able to convey to you how much thinking about him is causing you grief. The hat is a pile of **** because its just something you put on you head.
Furthermore the rapper GZA created a whole big verse which was one massive word play in which he mentions loads of record labels.
Common Sense did a whole track which was about hip hop but he did it in the form of an allegorical story.
Rapping is like anything, if you want to do any old crap then its basic. If you want to be any good you have to give it deep thought.
Rapping isnt talking What you want to say is restricted by the beat, you may have to alter your verse in order to make your lyrics fit the beat. Ironically the better you are the more you sound like you're talking.
Freestyling. Dont sit there and tell me that coming up with witty rhymes off the top of your head and making it fit to a beat is easy. No you cant come up with any old crap.

There are lots of innocent people in jail too... but the vast majority of them are guilty. There are always exceptions to the rules. Mall rap, Christian rap and in a lot of cases Alt. rap (Jurassic 5 and stuff like that) steer away from the drugs/money/guns/violence "themes"... but that doesn't change the fact that the high majority of rappers fallow those blue prints.
1. You need to take into account that thats now how it started. There are loads of old school rappers that gave a positive message.
2. I dont even know if its the vast majority. There are loads of rappers that dont portray the negative stereotype. Thats why you have things like "the underground scene" which is usually different from the mainstream but people like you think hip hop is just about shooting people. Focusing on the negative aspects is not making a balanced argument. Look at the whole picture.

True enough... but how many producers rap? Not every producer is Timbaland. 😎
Is that the point?

You'd be surprised, being able to scream without tearing the vocalcords to shreds is very difficult and you need tons of talent to transition form death growls to high pitch screaming and effortlessly back into the normal vocal range. Who here thinks they can scream for a couple of hours straight with out losing their voice?
Can you freestyle for a couple of hours?

I listen all sorts of music. Some of my friends (and my brother) listen to rap, so that means it is forced upon me in large doses when we hang out. Hell, some of the people I know fancy themselves rappers! It's not like I'm talking out of my ass here, I know what I'm talking about.
No you dont. You are making sweeping generalisations.
Then theres this.
"You know you say there is very little racism. Wasnt there an incident were members of the American Army were practicing shooting and they said "Imagine you're in the Bronx." no expression."
Response please.

I guess you've never taken English Lit. huh? 🙁AABB rhyme scheme is basic dude.
What about internal rhymes. What about speed rapping? When you rap you have to keep it to a beat as well, reciting something off a paper is easier.
