Their excuse was that they would either have to scale it back so it would run on a majoirty of PCs, which they didn't want to do, or not enough PCs would be able to run it at the proper settings, which they also didn't want to do.Which, as everyone knows, makes no freaking sense at all; they made cut down PS2 and Wii versions- hell, critical vibe is that the Wii version might be the best one- so why refuse to do that on PC? And in any case, the argument that not enough PCs can run the high end version is...
... well the whole excuse was gibberish, everyone knows it.
I say give the finger to the money hungry yet money flooded PC hardware industry and all the frustrations they've delivered.
That's like flipping he bird to "Crytec" cause "Crysis" couldn't run on most systems. Because the game was to graphically advanced, gimme a break. To me "Crysis" was the hard kick in the n*ts the PC hardware industry needed.
So blame shouldn't be put on Lucas for wanting to make his game visually look as optimal as his movies do. Blame big PC. (hardware)
If they can keep up with market demand, tech-wise, then they shouldn't be operating.

Bu that still doesn't make any sense, it really doesn't. Of course it is Lucasarts' fault. If a 360 can handle it, most affordbale PCs can. And if they can make a PS2 version, how can they say that they don't want to release a cut down PC version?
No, it is all Lucasarts nonsense.

The Wii version was programmed differently, it is not just a lower graphic version of the 360 version (indeed, it's noe testing the new tech at all, which is basically the point of TFU).That being the case it is my understanding that several critics are saying the game simply plays better on Wii.
I kind of want to see just how different the Wii version is.
Considering the guide for the game (why yes, I flip through game guides while bored at work) has two sections - one for the Wii version, and one for...every other version of the game (PS3, 360, PS2, DS, PSP)...it's got to have some pretty big differences.
Alright, HUGE Star Wars fan here, at least that’s what I would call myself, and that’s what I have been called 😛, I have seen every movie about 30+ times and never get tired of them.
But anyways…I finally got my 360 back, been holding onto this game for a couple days now not being able to play it which has been driving me nuts…but I got it back, and I played it for a couple hours today and I have to say, it is A LOT of fun, I really do love it. Now many people in here it seems are looking at it in their own way, I am looking at it as…a game. That’s it. I think that’s why most people aren’t liking it… they are looking too far into it, “it doesn’t match with the movies/other EU” and stuff like that, yeah that’s a shame and all, but it’s still a good game. And honestly, it is a REALLY fun game. I haven’t really played anything like it.
One part that really sticks out to me, after playing for a bit, is still the first training mission as Vader, your against the Jedi guy, and he just kinda stops, puts a little shield around him and THROWS a TIE Fighter at you! That’s absolutely ridiculous and I love it for it. I look at the over powerdness of it as more of a fun thing, where else can you just put in a game and just mess around with the force?? I like the AI they were really good and as pointed out, they really make you think sometimes on what you gotta do next.
And the graphics…they were phenomenal. Really got the OT look into them in my opinion. Brought back some old memories and brought me some nice new ones.
In all, I would give this game a 9/10 😄

As Ush said, TFU could easily perform on the PC.
Also, if a game cannot be played on the top of the line hardware, its the developers fault for doing it, not hardware manufacturers.
Crytek knew the produce a game that took alot of system power. Most people over exaggerated the system requirements. It can be played on a decent computer and the high end computers are still affordable.
Anyways, doesnt really matter. Its a shitty excuse. No game in this world right now can compare to the graphics of Crysis and Crysis Warhead so The Force Unleashed can easily be played on the PC, unless the developers are lazy and dont want to optimize the game.
I would think a good excuse would be that a game like TFU wouldnt work as well control wise than 360 version.

whoa.shaak ti's looking kinda impossible with the way the games cheating.
might scale it back to normal mode if it get too stupid. i've been clearly hitting her a lot, yet she get me thrice and i'm gone?, and she has about a half dozen force adept felucian soldiers with her.
...It's weird giving advice on how to kill my favorite Jedi... ermm
Shut up, Shaak Ti is awesome.
Anyway, played the game for a bit, it's okay. Not the greatest - the level design leaves a lot to be desired (I got stuck in a spot where I couldn't get out of it no matter how I tried) - and the controls don't feel any smoother than in the demo, but it's a fun enough game, it's just not great. I like blowing up everything but that won't keep my attention for long.
I already got annoyed with it, though...stupid game glitched and froze. Which was annoying.
Shaak Ti's awesome. One of the greatest Jedi in combat, nearly as strong in the Force, her species' sense of balance and agility, her sense of humor, and she has fangs. Plus she survived fighting General Grievous twice, fought off a huge number of his MagnaGuards, and survived two death scenes and Order 66. She's great.
