Because we're that awesome.
And since you probably missed it:

Shaak Ti's awesome. One of the greatest Jedi in combat, nearly as strong in the Force, her species' sense of balance and agility, her sense of humor, and she has fangs. Plus she survived fighting General Grievous twice, fought off a huge number of his MagnaGuards, and survived two death scenes and Order 66. She's great.

[B]One of the greatest Jedi in combat,
Relatively. I can name maybe 10 people that would destroy her. 😐
nearly as strong in the Force,
Nah.
Plus she survived fighting General Grievous twice,
Both times he whooped her ass and spared her out of amusement or being distracted. 😐
fought off a huge number of his MagnaGuards,
It's official canon now that newb level padawans like Asouka can kill three by herself. 😐
Though I like to think that she is an above average fighter.
Anyway...
*Rains on GK's parade in an ******* like fashion*
And for fun, I will name several people in SW who would crush her.
1. Luke
2. Anakin
3. Dooku
4. Mace Windu
5. Yoda
6. Obi-Wan
7. Qui-Gon Jinn
8. Ki Adi Mundi
9. Cin Drallig
10. Aayla Secura
Now, I just named ten people, all Jedi either Jedi or people who were Jedi, who would crush her, and those were only people that were alive the same time as she was mind you.
I can name prolly 30 at least if I take other generations and the Sith into account, prolly more

So yeah. She's still awesome, and she's still my favorite.

In the RotS novelization she was named one of the six "great swordbeings" of the Order. She was trained as a Consular, focusing on the mysteries of the Force. The combat prowess came naturally to her.
She still survived, which is more than can be said for many of the Jedi Grievous battled.
Shaak Ti held off dozens, much of the battle without a lightsaber.
So yeah. She's still awesome, and she's still my favorite.
2. Kay...And? She doesn't have the feats to back up her being even in the top 5 in terms of the Force in the Jedi Order alone.
3. You mean the nameless ones? Ki-Adi-Mundi faired much better against Grievous, and Mace Windu sent him running with crushed ribs and Ob-Wan pwned him.
4. And Magnaguards like Blax said are nuthin really all that special...
5. Which is FAIL.

Great, too bad she has no excellent feats to speak of otuside of being used by GL as a way to showcase the strength of a new character (GG, Starkiller). 😐

Which can be interpreted as GG simply not seeing her as a big enough threat to kill on the spot. Every time they fight he swipes her aside without a second thought.
Shaak Ti held off dozens, much of the battle without a lightsaber.
Dozens of droids that are below padawan level. Sadly, that's her only real combat feat, something Jango feckin' Fett surpassed when he defeated multiple jedi knights using only his fists.
So yeah. She's still awesome, and she's still my favorite.
She's one of my favorite Jedi. The reasons you listed for her being awesome are kinda weak, though. I think she's cool 'cause she's smart.

how do you choose one side over the other? I wasn't given an option of any kind. I was told to kill people so i did and i ended up with the light side ending. at least i beleive it was the light side ending. I went from jedi killer to jedi knight over night, so, im assuming that means i ended the game on the light side. How do i get the dark side ending? Is it any less silly than the light side ending, is it worth playing for?

No. What is it?I just beat the game on apprentice mode, and chose the Light Side ending. It was decent. I'll play it over, soon, on Sith Warrior mode and choose the Dark Side ending. I'm tempted to YouTube it and watch it, but I don't wanna spoil it for me.

I've been hesitant to buy this game because of how short it's supposed to be, do you guys think it's worth it? What would you rate it?
It's short. Very short. That, alone, drops it to an 8.5, in my opinion.
No online activity also hinders the score.
It's very God of War-esque, in that it's a lot of "Hack & Slash" gameplay.
On the positive side, it's fun. It's really fun to play. The environments are eye candy. I've got to admit, it's one of the best looking games I've seen in a while.
At best, it's a rental. I give it a solid 8.
