Well, we still got something from Apocalypse. He was shown as a true very powerful menace and defeated whole Earth by brute force and conquered it. So, he is extremely powerful. 616 Apocalypse didn't live up to it in those whole years from the beginning.
Forgetting the plot holes about how originally happened and why originally PF didn't emerge wit Jean, since Apocalypse killed Xavier and defeated all, the Phoenix Force itself came to stop him and, ok, did it with ease.
But lets face it, what PF did to Apocalypse, she could do the exact same thing to such as Silver Surfer, Thor, Thanos and so on...

I think this was more about unleashing Phoenix on the Ultimate universe, then it was Apocalypse........
also, I'm still wondering what happened to the original Ultimate Apocalypse?? Like Ash said, they showed a young version of him, and the Sinister/Apoc gave no indication that he was ever defeated. So what happened to him or his original body?? Why did he need Sinister's body, or was he always Sinister??

It's pretty much the same reason why Galactus hasn't devoured Earth-616, Dr. Doom never wins, Juggernaut doesn't crush Xavier's head or Spiderman doesn't get squished... oh and the Empire in Star Wars lost to a bunch of Ewoks (I'll never forgive Lucas for that sht)!!

You don't know how much I wanted Apocalypse to give her a tough fight, resistance.
Apocalypse actually facing one of the major cosmic powerhouses and to put her a fight. You know what that would mean, you know what powerhouse Apocalypse would be. Beast beyond what even we Apocalypse fans wanted.
But I always knew in my heart that if Phoenix want, she can end that without effort. But hoped it wouldn't happened that way.
Then, Apocalypse we seen in Ultimate universe, wasn't powerful as originally when he conquered Earth, because then he absorbed other powers and always made him even more powerful. In the future he was even more powerful.
But I also must say that this was badly written comic. Full of plot holes to the continuity. And I still think Apocalypse should show some more resistance.
And we also must admit, despite Apocalypse involved in one of the best stories, we always wanted to his full powers, his great magnitude, to use all powers he has, not only one per comic, and still want so. I am especially talking for 616.
Ultimate Apocalypse was at least depicted as the most powerful, unstoppable force on Earth.
At the first it was bad, not what I was expecting.
But then again, is it really that bad, when we think:
Apocalypse punching Phoenix and she was actually blown away
Phoenix saying she won't underestimate him again, anymore
She say that now he will taste the full force powers, to take them all
Seeing that face, she really puts the effort and Apocalypse couldn't just be immediately destroyed and put to dust (and what she did later, reverting the world like nothing, fixing everything, that should say something about Apocalypse)
That is what bothers me, Apocalypse begging her to stop
Said his true form revealed (that is actually confusing and not an answer to Apocalypse and his image in the past, it must be explained in the future)
