I think downloading is permissible in a few instances... how else could you possibly read something like Micronauts or Miracleman, who the original publishers don't have the rights to, and can't be collected in trade paperback, and are literally IMPOSSIBLE to collect full runs of any other way.
but downloading new comics is pretty bad.

That's how some justify it, and it's closer to being permissable. But yeah, ripping new stuff is just low, especially when you can easily get synopses and important scans on KMC the next day anyway.

definitely agree. Warren Ellis listed a really clever way to make comic's easier to get for cheaper over the internet, because it's a good way to distribute them. I wish I could find the article he wrote.
but, comics are such a fragile industry, and when there is such little good stuff out there, you HAVE to support the market if you want what you like to keep coming out.

So my comic shop did me a favor by selling out of Countdown #34. I bought a Spider-Man sketchbook instead. It's hot.Anyway. Anyone want to give me the cliff's notes version so I'm caught up for next week?
Piper and Trickster were hung upside down and left for Batman to find them – but Flash quickly horned in and took the two away for his own brand of questioning, only to have them reveal that Deathstroke is planning on crashing Green Arrow & Black Canary’s wedding.
Jimmy sought the help of John Henry Irons (is there nothing that man can’t do?) to figure out what’s going on in his noggin, and it looks like he’s got more than one earth, the Source Wall and more inside.
Jason Todd and Donna Troy made a stand against Belthera, only to see her escape with Bob the Monitor (all powerful cosmic being that’s easily susceptible to magic) – but Donna got pulled along for the ride.
Harley and Holly won the contest that Athena (er, Granny Goodness – shh!) has held, and their prize? A trip to join the Amazons on Paradise Island. Woo.
Mary Marvel ran into Klarion the Witch Boy in a Chinese magic village, and Mr. Orr pointed Karate Kid towards Buddy Blank, while showing his own true colors.

Sweet sig, Mungi. 😂
The Countdown: Arena website is up now.

Eh, seems kinda suspect. What's the premise, that the losers cease to exist? With no mainstream characters from the regular DCU, it seems like it won't really affect anything.

So,Anyone else digging Forerunner?Best.Origin.ever.
Nah.
But I think I'm just about done reading countdown until probably week 10. The search for Palmer story is branching off, and as a Wildstorm activist I'm obligated to purchase it. And the GLC War stuff and Booster Gold is enough to keep me up on the pre-FC continuity.
