Meh, I may drop the series for a while (mainly for financial reasons)
Nothing has happened in the past couple of weeks and it's getting old. Mary Marvel has been turned into a annoying brat, Piper and Trickster are just kind of running around and Jimmy Olsen won't freakin' die!
Maybe i'll jump back on once Darksied starts doing somthing

I saw the scans of Val owning Equus and that was good enough for me. I'll probably start reading again when the title changes to Countdown to Final Crisis. I figure that could be a good jumping on point.
I guess, but then again in Booster Gold, Rip Hunter had written on the blackboard "Forget about the Countdown, focus elsewhere".
I think Geoff Johns may be trying to save us some money 😖hifty:

Probably. The last issue sucked. Cliffhangers are worthless story devices used to pander to reader curiosity...it's not good writing, just something that should be used occasionally. Slade was the only resolved cliffhanger, but each issue leaves us with at least 3-4 just before something "big" happens.
On the plus side, Mary is hot as hell on the cover.

Yeah, it's unfortunate.....moreso because it's getting to the point where I want to like DC's big event stuff, but I can't stomach it unless it's Johns writing it. At least I like Morrison as well...he'll likely handle Final Crisis well, unless DC gives him 25 storylines to cover and he becomes a slave to the continuity of the thing.
True, true. Forget the current vogue of 6-issue events. Final Crisis better be at least 8, and 12 would be preferable. Otherwise, I can't help but feeling like it'll just be ultra-condensed nonsense, which is what almost happened to IC (even though I enjoyed it).
Hell, make it a weekly and expand it to 16 issues. That would be tight.

I'm torn. I've followed it this far, but it's been boring the heck out of me. I feel semi-obligated because it culminates in Final Crisis, but very (very) little is redeeming about it in my eyes. Karate Kid is the only amusing part.
Countdown really isn't all that good. I', just buying selected issues in which I think may be good. I hope Final Crisis is better.

...kills the industry. It's one thing if it's out of print or very obscure, but it's never condonable, regardless of your financial situation. I only used it once to get some info for the last tourney I was in, and even then I felt kinda dirty.
