"There is something I have to do right now" Carbo said, turning his head to Champion. "I will not be long" He said, stroking his head to hers before leaving the den. He smelled the air, carefully following the trail of Kiri. He could not keep his mind straight until he found out what it was he had done wrong. Despite his agressive past and cold upgrowth, something had changed in him. Now when he had Champions, he valued his emotions more than ever. Having someone as nice as Kiri avoiding him was not something he would allow. Not without knowing the reason, at least.

He stopped when she was within sight. From a small distance, he could see the wolf by the river. She was not the only wolf Carbo could smell, though. But that was not important in this matter. Slowly he walked a little closer, stopping half way and sitting up on one of the rocks, he looked at the wolf. He sat there, waiting for her to notice him before he was to say anything.

Kiri turned, looking quite suprised with Carbo. She looked around for a moment then smiled kindly before standing.

" Hello.."

She said, gazing intently at Carbo. She unconciously took a step back, falling into the river. With a terrified yelp she blushed, thoroughly embarrased. Clawing herself out she stepped a few meters away from Carbo she shook, her fur ouffing out in little entwines. She looked away.

" Id better go dry off.."

She said, bowing her head before the male wolf before slinking away slowly.

Carbo watched Maric for a moment. "Prioritise the rest of the pack. I will manage at least a few days, before I get into crisis. I recommend we feed them in size up, saving me for last" He said, nodding at Maric, before turning his head back to Kiri.

He noticed how she fell into the water, and his muscles tensed up as he was ready to leap after her. However, she crawled up from the river, and it seemed like she was fine, all but the wet fur. He grinned at the young wolf, jumping down from the rock and walked in her direction. "Good morning, Kiri" He said with a smile, following the wolf who was walking with her head low. She seemed rather depressed, and he could not really tell why. Falling into the river was rather harmless, so that could not have been the case.

Maric cocked his head, his lips curving back. "You always were my Advisor.." He chuckled and stood, turning completely around before he let out a deafening howl which echoed through their den and slightly outwards.

" good m..morning "

she said, shaking in the cold. The wetness on her sopping fur heald the cold in like a refrigerator, and her body was not taking it well. Small shivering convulsions took over her body, and she crept toward the patch in the grass where the sun was bright. She lay down and let the natural heat of the atmosphere dry her. She then looked back toward Carbo and smiled apologetically for walking away while he was trying to speak to her. She was also quite embarrased.

Carbo stopped about one meter away from the wolf, looking down at her where she laid. He was not entirely sure what to say, but the poor thing were shivering. He had no idea what to do to help her out in this situation. He knew how Champion would react if he walked too close to the wolf. He sat down, looking at her. "Please. I can not stand this much longer. Just get it over with, and tell me what it was that I did wrong?" He said, sighing. It felt like his heart was about to stop beating when he spoke those words, and was not entirely sure he was ready to hear the reply.

Kiri was slightly daunted by carbo's question. she smiled and looked the older wolf in the eye.

" You havn't done anything wrong, I can promise you that. I guess its just in my nature. Im very sorry if I have offended you... "

She let her ears lay back and she let out a soft whimper before turning to try and nip at the cut still remenant on her neck from the deer's hooves. She then looked back toward Carbo, but something made her look back away. once more she itched at the cut.

"Something is wrong, I can see that. Care to tell me about what it is?" He asked her, looking where she laid as she tried to nip at the cuts that she had from the deer. He sighed, shaking his head. "No, do not do that. It will make things worse later, even if it might feel better now" Carbo said, taking a step closer to Kiri. "Be more gentle if you are to take care of a wound" He said, sitting down. He looked up in the sky for a brief moment, enjoying the few stars that still showed up there. He then turned his head back at her.

Kiri followed his gaze and stared up at the stars, gleaming in the dark sky. Her golden eyes locked onto them as she became lost in their myriads. she sighed, dreamily.
I want to go there...I want to dance in the sky and be beautiful like all those stars...I want others to look at me like that. like im not a mutt, but a bright, beautiful star.

She let herself smile softly, and then blushed as if Carbo could hear her thoughts. She shook her head and then licked a paw dry before answering.

" Its not so much whats wrong with.." She sighed. " I want to be better than this, and I want to be beautiful like the other females, and I want to be good enough- "

She stopped herself there and blushed looking away.

"Now who have claimed otherwise?" He answered quickly when she stated she wanted to be like the other females. He then came to think of Champion for a moment "Well, everyone can not have the same beauty. But why would you want to look like them? You are pretty like you are right now" He said, nodding at her. She was just a pup, and he could not understand why thoughts like this circled her mind. "You are beautiful and good enough to most. I can not think of any male that would not want you as their mate" He paused for a moment, realising how wrong that could have been understood. He lowered his head and sighed, folding his ears backwards. "What I ment was, there is absolutely nothing about yourself that you do not have to be satisfied with. Flawless, if I may say"

" Well, it isn't just here. I thought I would do well, and get along because before, I got hurt alot... the domesticated dogs did not like me, most of them at least. they were threatened. Whe I was a pup a got attacked alot, just for being part wolf. They dont want me around, so why should you wolves? i just want to be normal..just one, not a..a mutt. "

her ears fell back shyly, and she stood, looking away.

" And So what if im young? Im not too young to have been told that I was a danger to the family i loved. They let the people take me. They wanted to kill me, the other dogs there told me! They say theres wolves and dogs, and anything in between just isnt going to work. Im not going to work! "

With that Kiri dashed off. she let her paws carry her, and didnt look back. She didnt know where she was going but she wanted to get there fast.

[Nice time to ruin this..]

Maric dropped the hind end of a deer he had been carrying in his mouth and licked his muzzle. "Did I miss something?" He smiled, looking over to the two. The rest of the pack already had returned to the den with the other pieces of deer, he only decided to check up on the two.

Maric then dug his canines into the deer, tearing out strips and chunks of flesh before nudging them to Kiri. "Here, I brought this for you." He sat down in front of her, urging her to eat at least some. "There's some left on that hind end Carbos if you want some. The squad brought back enough meat to support the den. We made a lucky catch.. The deer further North hibernated farther than normal.. We caught them on the way through."

Carbo sat speachless, watching the female dash of into the distance. He lowered his head again, once more folding his ears back. What in the world did he do wrong? He thought he was a good listener, but all he did was pushing her away all the time. Maybe he should just be sticking to killing for living. He was able of doing that, at least. He knew that. For how long was unsure, since he grew in age too. Soon to be too old to hunt, probably. He held his head low, as he walked back towards the pack. If she wanted to run, he had no intention of stopping her.

"Let her run" Carbo said when he noticed Maric, not sure if Maric was to set after her or not. "And no, thank you. I am not hungry at all. Bring it to the pack. It might be needed later" He said, walking low with head and tail between his legs, towards the pack and the den.

*champion nods some, watching as Carbo leaves, she follows him silently in the shadows. She stays to the thickest bushes so her white fur wont give her away. She listens to their convo, barly able to stay both down wind of Carbo, and in the bushes*

*Champ starts to move quicker, to beat him back, knowing he likely hears the rustle of her walking quickly through the brushes next to the path he is taking, as Champ trys to stay silent, she hopes he cant see her white fur*

Carbo stops moving for a moment, turning his head into the direction from where he knew he had heard some sounds. He noticed a movement in the bushes, that suddenly stopped when he turned his head in the direction. "Who goes there? Come out now! I am not in the mood of waiting, but if you do not get over here, I WILL come and get you!" Totaly unaware of the fact that it was Champ.

*Champ suddenly yelps loudly, as she slips and falls on her stomach, Its a yelp he has heard a million times, always when she is hurt some, or afraid. "Its me....Champion"*

"Champion? What are you doing here?" He asked suprised, as his tone had turn from agressive to gentle and walking up towards the location of the wolf. Why was she sneaking after him in the bushes? He shrugged, deciding that will have to be a later issue. "Are you alright?" Carbo asks her, watching her where she was in the bush.

*She trys to stand, whimpering* Im caught.... somthing has a hold of my back le...*She sniffs the air "CARBO! A HUNTER.." She yelps from fear, her leg caught in a rope snare, from when she sliped.*

Carbo raise his head, sniffing the air "Relaxe, Champion. I believe the scent is old. The only fresh around here, is your back legg" He said, sighing and having his tail between his legs. He was not sure if the scent was old, but hopefully she trusted him enough to believe it. He did not care if he lied to someone he cared about, but if she did not relaxe, he would not be able to help her out. He walked around her, stopping behind her. He lowered his head, starting to chew on the rope that was tied around her legg. "Relaxe. There is no hunter here. The scent is old" Carbo was praying that he was correct, or the two would be an easy target, due his size.

Kiri heard the scream and stopped for a moment. She couldnt tell if she was in real danger or...somehting else. Sighing she decided to go check it out.She trotted back, but kept a definate distance between herself, Carbo and champion. she sniffed the ground and then lifted her nose to the air. Walking past the two, she let her sensitive nose do all the work, and she followed the scent closely. There was a human, and it was not as dfar as Carbo thought. not that old..however he prbably was not wolf hunting. She knew that was not one of the things they did.

They where probably hunting for deer though, and that would compromise the wolve's food. If they became defensive they would be hurt, maybe killed.
