I would say political correctness in the west led to womens roles changing recently. Women never really hunted with men, they tended to look after the young according to most reputable anthropology. Women still are not equal in most of the world, what's the reason for that. Why is it a multicultural trend in most cultures. Matriarchies are not a common model as leaders through history and tend to be disasters, Joan of ark, Boadicea, Thatcher 😉. All bad.

... We have women pilots in the military. I look at them every day when they come in to medical. They've been in the cockpit for over 30 years. And they've been flying combat missions for 15 years. In aviation medicine, across the hall from main medical, they've got a female doctor trained to pilot combat aircraft.
