Look, I don't care the color is of you or anybody else, racist comments like that should not be made. That said, you can say what you want about Hudlin, but I have NEVER read anything of him making racist comments against whites. For heaven's sake, one of you guys even posted on another board last year that you wished a terrorist would attack and this time the plane crashed into his home and killed him, his wife and children. That is TOO FAR. When I saw that comment made and nobody there said anything about it, I chose not to join that board. Hudlin has NEVER made any comment like that against ANYBODY. You may argue that he has downplayed some caucasion characters in some issues (again, I pretty much stick with the X-Men and have read some Avengers because I like Sersi, so I cannot debate here so much) , however, I see a double-standard here. Scott Lobdell devalued Storm a great deal as a character. Yet, you guys like to ignore the PIS rule of the board and bring up Lobdell issues where she is written weaker than canon 2Loud or I present to show how powerful she is. He constantly did this with Storm and she is the only character he did it with. I could argue that he is racist. Sure, he may have been good to Bishop, but Bishop is a character that many of the X-Men can beat. He's no threat to anybody. I could argue with STorm that she was devalued maybe because he had a hard time having her as the most powerful member of the team. Though I have no interest in entertaining this kind of discussion, I could argue this MUCH better than you guys can with your Hudlin stuff. That said, I have seen more racism from you guys than what you guys are going on about with Hudlin with the kinds of comments Trickster made. Why are't you guys talking about Lobdell and running him down for what he did? Why do you use the PIS issues he wrote to break the forum rules and use PIS to devalue the Storm character when other issues that show Storm at higher power levels, etc have already been scanned and/or alluded to in threads?
Oh yeah, just because you are black does not make it okay for you to make racist comments about blacks. I am black too and I don't care to read this kind of garbage and I should not have to. I believe in self-respect and dignitity. This kind of trash should not be tolerated and the mods should really make a stand on this and say that this board does not condone these kinds of comments in any context. I don't care if a person *claims* that he/she did not "mean" it.
This is not the first time either. On the last Storm/Polaris thread, there was a guy who made another racist comment against me because I thought Storm could beat Polaris. That guy introduced a racist element in that thread where it was TOTALLY unwarranted and it basically killed the thread. You guys need to grow up.
What 2Loud was getting at with his comment is the reality on this board that there is a HUGE double-standard for Storm. Given racist comments that some have made on here against blacks, he was thinking that this is probably the reason some of you are against the character being at a certain power level. In other words, she's okay as long as she "doesn't rise above her ranks." I agree with him. You guys see these kinds of stupid comments made and just "lol". Though some of you may not make them personally, you sit there and go with the flow and not say anything which means that you condone it. This would lead some to believe that you are probably of a like mindset, but just don't care to voice it. Hence its no problem for you for others to post it. I think some of you intentionally devalue the character and hold the double-standards because for these reasons. Others, I think are just being obtuse. Some know that she is on that level, but just feel that she should not be there so they ignore the canon that puts her there and choose to go with the weaker showing (which goes against the board rules).
Anyway, I don't care to go on about this anymore. Magneto and Polaris lost many pages ago and many threads ago. Their powers, if worked directly upon Storm, can only enhance her power as we saw in the Rougestorm arc where she absorbed the energies from the storms she created with triggered her evolution into Rougestorm. She can also choose to channel Magneto's and Polaris's energy if they hit her directly with it as she has channeled storms through her body numerous times. In all of these scenerios, she is channelling/absorbing/metabolizing the same forces that Magneto and Polaris control is greater quantities than they can produce as well as other forces in vast quantities that they cannot control.
If they try to throw metal at her, she has some great defenses against that with her winds and pressure dome. On the other hand, she is going to fight back. Her winds, which can tax Magneto's powers to the utmost, would immediately take Lorna out of the fight since anything that can strain MAgneto's powers so much is going to squash the MUCH weaker Polaris instantly. Polaris is no match for Storm's lightning alone.
If Ororo tosses those winds at MAgneto, he's not going to have power to spare to hurl metal with any great force to try and penetrate her pressure dome. (Even if he did not have to divert so much power and concentration to withstand her winds, it is still doubtful that he can hurl anything with enough force to puncture her dome. For her to smash through that landform like that meant that her dome had to survive a high velocity impact with it. That dome did it easily. This is assuming that he can push anything through the winds she would be generating.)
This fight is ridiculous. Magneto only has a shot if PIS is used against STorm.
