Ops, forgot the end-spoiler tag... Hope I didn't spoil anything for anyone.

Well, your friend didn't know that you can move during cutscenes? So it would be easy to move away during the cutscene.

i was a bit too harsh on this game i think. after playing through the beginning again this time without any expectations i liked the story a lot more. i actually really like the genetic memory part of the story, it adds a whole other layer to the game. good story altogether really, has anyone else beat it?

i like the combat system a lot as well after you get all your abilities back. once you get the counter attack everythings smooth sailing.

the only real complaint is the investigation missions, the save the citizens and viewpoints. for something that if you're a completionist like me you have to do in every city, theres not enough variety or reward to keep you interested.

Really? I find the Viewpoints to be rewarding, getting a cool panorama view of the entire section of the cities/surroundings is just amazing.

As for the combat system, when I was watching the fights etc in gameplay footage and such I always felt that the AI looked so stupid. Hanging back and not attacking, even though they outnumbered Altair 20 to 1. However after I started playing I have kinda noticed that this seems a lot more realistic. In real fighting you are waiting for your opponents move a lot more then what is usually depicted in games. And they are far from stupid, sometime they are pretty good at jumping in while you are busy with someone else.

This game is fast becoming boring. Im tired of doing the same things over and over again. I wish there were more cowd interaction options and and more than one or two ways to dispacth your mark. The graphics and smooth gameplay will probably keep me playing to the end, but i have to say im dissapointed with the games redundancy

I can agree that the game isn't all that it should be. It has definitely been rushed, I believe they had a lot more in planning. However, to say that it is boring, that I can't agree with, yet. However certain stupid things annoy me, like I can't walk into a church without Monk escort, even tho everyone else can, and of course when it was time to leave it I had no Monks to help out, so the Guards had to start chasing me because I wanted to leave the Church. Annoying.

Also, did anyone else do Jerusalem before Acre? Seems like Jerusalem would be a good place to do after you got the throwing knives, with all the roof guards everywhere.

I just did my first Assassination, and now I can reply to some posts I had to ignore because of spoiler tags earlier...

First off, how did you manage to get into that position? I just did it, and

Spoiler:
After Tamir had stabbed that poor weapon-smith or whatever he was a million times he started moving around and talking to the different merchants working at his souk. I was walking around carefully, watching to see where he would go. I "happened" to walk past him when he bent across a table to talk to a merchant, and then simply jumped him and stabbed him in the neck, and had a pretty intense getaway run. How you two managed to get into a rooftop swordfight with him, seems beyond me.
Well I pretty much explained how it happened.

Not hard to see how it could happen really.

Anyway....

So the third assassination has been the best one/most exciting thus far.....

Spoiler:
not to mention it was one of the ones featured in a gameplay showing and the one I was looking forward to and waiting for.

I was just so surprised that it ended so quickly and that I

Spoiler:
caught up to him so quickly. I was expecting the chase to be much longer....
Maybe I'm just too good.

I did however perform the assassination without actually having to fight the target for the first time.

YAY! w00t

For a while now I've been attempting to throw knives and it worked the first couple of times and then just wouldn't work for me and I'd end up swinging with my short sword/knife and finally today I realized you can't hold the button down for longer than a second. You have to tap it quickly.

Okay.......

I also like the

Spoiler:
Auto-Traveling Feature that allows you to automatically return to any city once you've completed the first 3 Assassinations in them.

Of course I didn't use it b/c now that traveling the country side

Spoiler:
isn't necessary
I thought I'd just go ahead and get all of the Viewpoints in the country side before continuing.

Then I have to travel all the way to the city I'm going to first, which is going to be a nice little distance b/c

Spoiler:
I have to do them in order again.
(Because that's just how I have to do it. I wouldn't feel right to
Spoiler:
go out of order even though I can if I want to)

Maybe if I'm closer to the Arch that gives you the option to

Spoiler:
auto travel
once you travel through it then I'll go to that instead.

I do wish the country side was more involved than what it is. It's basically just

Spoiler:
area to travel through with your horse and really pay no attention to anything else......just gallop away from the soldiers and be on your way. Unless you just want to go around killing all of the soldiers......

Well as there isn't really a "third" assassination target, I guess you are talking about the Jerusalem

Spoiler:
the slavetrader Talal
right? Which in my case was my second target as it was optional which of the cities you visited first

Anyway, I have to agree about it, a pretty interesting chase. However, I neither managed to get it to last long. After

Spoiler:
he had jumped down to street level I started running after him, remembering the movie I saw a time ago I was expecting this to take some time. However, I had done something the gameplay video hadn't done, I had rescued the Civilian in that particular area, so after running on street level for 20 sec one Vigilante suddenly popped out and grabbed Talal. I chuckled a bit when he screamed "What the hell are you doing, let go of me", but by then it was too late for him
, chase ended after 20 sec. However I screwed up and the escape sequence lasted 3 intense minutes.

Interesting. I saved all the citizens as well but I guess he didn't get as far with me as yours did because as soon as he got down on the street I immediately got him. Didn't last hardly a second down on the street.

Wow 3 minutes. Ha.

On a previous escape I thought that you were unable to become invisible and that you were on permanent high alert until you got away b/c I had tried hiding and it just wouldn't work (I see now that I was just not out of their sighs yet) so I didn't bother hiding to become invisible until I got back to the bureau and it was closed. So I went and lowed my profile and then came back. Didn't last that long though.

Loving the additions to the combat.

First post since the game came out that contains no spoiler tags! w00t

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

My progress so far...and loving every second of it.

I finish the job on Damascus. Now I'm on another assignment to Acre. I opted to leave Jerusalem for another time. I'm crossing this path of Eagle something. It's a huge valley with some pretty tough archers. I can't seen to pass by without getting spotted. If anyone have any clues as to how jump the cliff...let me know.

I've collected 18 flags from Masyaf and killed 2 Templars. Learn some very neat sword attacks. I save all the citizens in Damascus. I've gotten to 6 high places and loooooove doing the dive.

Friggin wicked cool game! Can't wait to get home and play more time.

after you do it 50 or 60 times and its pretty much the same model for most of the towers, it gets a little repetitive.

I do agree with that.

I like the game, but I can defenitly see what people are talking about.

Ok, I have just gotten down to Acre finally. What's the deal with the guard outpost/barracks outside of Acre? Can they all see through the blend? Or have I only been unlucky so far?

For some reason I can place what a "Templar" is.

What are they?

Also, I love the

Spoiler:
Capture the Flags
Missions. They're placed in such a way that allows you to traverse the building tops nice and fluidly.

A Knights Templar...
Do you not know of them from history? Or who they are in the game?

If the latter, then they are usually standing somewhere for themselves, with a red helmet and a big red cross on their chest and back, whereas the rest of their armor is white.

If you actually meant the first, then check this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Templar

Nah....just the game.....

Soldiers so far have all been the same for me.

Haven't really seen a difference.

I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

So they're harder to kill than regular guards/soldiers then?

They are harder to kill then normal soldiers and they have counter attacks as well.
They armor looks the same as the guards but their helmet is different.....

You will find at least one Templar in Damascus. If he spots you first he'll attack even if unprovoke.

That's pretty much where I'm stuck now.

Well I never got stuck, when I didn't manage to proceed, I decided to just move on to Acre.

You mean another city don't you?

Well I haven't experienced what you guys are talking about yet.

I'm still in the country side going for the last View Point I think.

When I went to kill

Spoiler:
William the Liege-Lord of Acre
who hides in a

fortress
I decided to enter from the upper levels also taking out the archers at the same time one of the corpses accidentally fell down into the
Spoiler:
fortress
and the body guards of the target all left their place just to check what the hell happened by this leaving him alone and making him an easy trophy.
