I can agree that the game isn't all that it should be. It has definitely been rushed, I believe they had a lot more in planning. However, to say that it is boring, that I can't agree with, yet. However certain stupid things annoy me, like I can't walk into a church without Monk escort, even tho everyone else can, and of course when it was time to leave it I had no Monks to help out, so the Guards had to start chasing me because I wanted to leave the Church. Annoying.

.

I dont mean to say that Assassins Creed is a bad game, but i just finished my fourth assassination, and there has been no change in gameplay. Go to city, scout city, save civilians, kill mark. Hopefully the gameplay will intensify soon. I'm not sure if i like the fact that you do not need to be stealthy is any way. If you want, you can tear through the city killing hordes of gaurds and there is no consequence what so ever. When gaurds are alerted to nefarious actions and engage you in combat. You simply just need to kill a half dozen of gaurds before your alert falls back down to inconspicuous. I havent had to hide or run from guards since ive started the game. This aspects takes away the frustraion of having to continuously play through certain segments over until you get it right. It also takes away any type of difficulty though.
I think the game would have benefited immensely by some sort of reward system. Such as upgrading or leveling. The only rewards you get from the game is climbing and jumping.
My other gripe with the game is the save system. . There is no onscreen notification telling you when the game has been saved or a manuel option to save.
Even when the game becomes monotonous. It is still more fun that most games on the market and as addicting as the best ones. The graphics and smooth controls make it worth playing alone. This is the best looking 3rd person action/adventure game on the market aside form maybe heavenly sword. Even then the environments posses much more detail.

Does anyone know what the flags give you? Is there any point other than increasing your health bar and gamer points to acquire them?

Ah, man. I've gotten the full hang of the sword fights. Most of the time i don't even fight. I just stand there and wait till I'm attacked and counter the hits, killing them instantly most of the time. I leave a pile of bodies when I'm done with 1 or 2 soldiers fleeing for their lives until i catch e'em and slay 'em. I never let any of them escape.

I've killed 3 soldiers practically simultaneously using the counter move, it was beautiful. Pure theatre. I knew there had to be more to sword fights.

Assassinations are a cinch. Just go up to any soldier while praying and let 'em have it and walk away preying, lol i love it.

I've accidentally assassinated a couple of civilians that were in the way with my secret knife, that always made me go "damn.." cause i know I'm some how gonna pay for it.

But the Holy land has become my play ground wherever i go soldiers have no chance of catching me now. I need tolearn how to throw daggers now. And i'd be nice if access was had to bows and arrows.

I love the game save for how easy the A.I. bots make it to send 'em packing to meet the King of Kings. I wish they offered more of a challenge but other than that this beautiful and fun game sure keeps me coming back for more for some reason. It's making my COD4 jealous for sure cause i haven't touched her since i purchased A.C.

Peace.

Actually the game does let you know when the game is being saved.

I however wish we could save it whenever we wanted to.

And also, when you get a flag, your game automatically saves as well and it lets you know this.

So I just finished playing some and I actually did see some Templars and killed all that I came across and saw that even before today I had killed on previously.

Of course I wasn't aware of them so I didn't know to look out for them. Thought all soldiers were all the same.

So yeah.......the ones I killed today weren't really hard at all. Not to mention I assassinated 2 of them.

I also realized for the first time today that you can

Spoiler:
Pick Pocket Thugs and get throwing knives that way.
You see, I didn't know the knives actually ran out. I thought you had an infinite amount so that explains as well my troubles with the knive throwing.

The last 2 view points that I got today in the countryside were surprisingly a little challenging to obtain.

Guards galore everywhere and when I attempted to climb, they'd throw rocks and knock me down so I had to kill some of them and there were a lot...A LOT.....They actually got me down to 3 health bars one time.......Eventually I got it though.

Still loving this game. Even after I beat it I can see myself coming back to it just to roam the cities and mess around and jump across the building tops.

Also.....I was kind of stumped for a few minutes.

So after my meeting at the Bureau I went out and expected New View Points to show up on the map for me to go to and there were none. SO I had no idea where to go. So I just saw a random view point near me and chose it. It didn't nothing...I could do the whole panorama view thing and get my map updated. Had no idea what to do. So after a while of roaming and thinking I see this real real tall building and decided, "What the hey...don't think I ever climbed that before...and hey..maybe there's a view point up there that I can't see."

There was.....and it worked....and then 9 other view points showed up on my map. I'm not exactly sure what that was about but I'm thinking that I probably wasn't paying as close attention as I should have during the breifing at the bureau as to where to go.

So did he tell me a certain area to go to and start searching (and I just happen to randomly choose the right view point), which was a new area of the city that wasn't accessible the first time or are we just going through all of the same view points again?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Last night i unlocked 2 nice achievements. 50 kills with the blade and after another long while, 100 kills with my blade.

I feel i could kill a thousand of 'em. Even if it's to no avail or in vain. Sometimes i hunt their oblivious a$$es just for the hell of it, while seamlessly blending in with the crowd afterwords. But i still go on with the missions though. Wanna see what this odd story's all about.

How does it let you know the game has been saved? I guess i havent been paying close enough attention.

I had the same problem with the throwing knives lol. It was until the game pointed out during a load screen that i had to pickpocket thugs for more knives.

Have you tried just waiting for all the gaurds to come to you when their attention is hostile towards you? That may help you with climbing the view points without distraction. Ive found there is no point in doing anything other than parrying during sword fighting. Unless, they are templars. Parrying results in one hit kills.

it sounds as though you may have experienced a glitch with the view points and objective not showing up on your map. Ive noticed though, that you need to gather enough info, by completing enough side quests, before the bureau's objective will become highlighted on your map.
I've suffered form several glitches myself. The game itself is a bit buggy. i'll be jumping or running and the game momentarily freezes. I was jumping off a building, the game froze and then i ended up outside of the city 😕
The ambient sound sometimes deafens to complete silence or the map icons stay blue after hiding from an alert awareness.

Well the whole Map Objective thing happened after I had completed all of the cities just once and I had returned to one for the second time to go after a new target.

I don't think it was a bug....I think I actually had to listen to where the Bureau guy told me to go instead of not listening closely enough and expecting an icon from the get go. Being that I had cleared the city previously, I believe this is how it works now once you return to the cities again for other targets.

That whole jumping and being outside of the city all of a sudden had me laughing.

And as for the saving. When the game is saving an icon along with a message shows up at the bottom center of the screen and lets you know.

It saves everytime you leave or enter the country side and it saves everytime you get a flag and complete a view point...you know when it does that shimmering effects thing after you've gotten a flag or did a view point...when it's doing that, the message appears on the screen that I mentioned above. Maybe the effects distracted you.

It saves during other times as well.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

should i buy this?
im going to game crazy tomorrow and i was thinking of whether i should buy this game or some other one

Yes, I personally think you should buy it. It's a great game. The greatness outweighs the medial flaws.

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

I would say rent it before buying it.

It's a very polarizing game. Some people absolutely love it, while some dont like it all.

Rage is right though, there isnt enough variety. It should learn from Zelda, or Splinter Cell or other games its paid homage too, add some scripted event, or big sequence that changes it up. Also, why in the hell doesnt the developers have some indoor sequences to change it up......the part in Solomons Temple would been great if similiar situations happen later on in the game.

the thing is though, i dont like renting
i have 5 days
if i dont beat it, i'll want to buy and i'll finish it in like 1-2 days since ive already gotten so far
if i DO beat, i can never play it again unless i buy it, which feels like a waste of money since i already beat it

thats why i dont like renting

Dammit, i cant believe i never noticed the save. So there, is actually a point to the flashy colors everytime you find a flag or view point eh. I thought they were there just to annoy the shit out of you

it wasnt a bug, you were just moving onto the second district of the city and you hadnt unlocked a viewpoint there yet. just like when you first enter a city, nothing appears until you unlock that first viewpoint. each city has 3 districts and 3 assasinations that you perform in them.

i wouldnt, i bought and beat it in like 3 days and im probably never going to play it again. but its definitely worth playing, the story alone is worth the rent. i didnt like it at first but it really grew on me.

i can definitely see it turning into a good series. its got the story, the good gameplay and the areas to improve to make the sequel way better than the original.

You can easily go through this game in a couple of days.

The only thing that takes awhile is if you go for all the flags, templars and do all the investigations and save the citizens.

What's worst Hidden Lotus.

You rent it, love it and then take it back before the date is due and then buy.

Or buy it for $60 and hate it.

It's a very polarizing game. Either you love it, or find it completley boring.

I battled a Templar later last night and he definitely did put up much more of a fight.

I got 'em though.

Did you do all of the view points and save all the citizens and do every investigation?

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

This game makes me wanna watch 2005's "Kingdom of Heaven". Never seen it before; heard it was good.

It's about the crusades during the time of A.C. starring i think Orlando Bloom as soldier and Ed Norton as the King of Israel.

The director behind "Gladiator" directed this one so it should be good.

Yeah it's a good flick, one of Blooms better roles, Liam Neeson is great too, but unfortunately he nor Norton is much in it.

Well, off to play AC.

I hate those types of movies.

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

For shame.

Anyhow, had one of the greatest moments in the game now, going atop the first viewpoint in Damascus after you have killed the three first targets, just breathtaking finally getting a view of the whole darned city. Amazing.

Also, has anyone gotten any fine Achievements (do the PS3 users have anything like that?) other then the "completed blabla" types?

So far I have gotten:
Eagle's Fight:
Surviving a 10min long battle.

Gifted escapist
Jumping through 20 different Merchant stands.

Eagle's Dance
Do 50 Leap of Faiths

Eagle's Swiftness
Kill someone with 100 witnesses watching.

Blade in the Crowd
This one is the most "expensive" one so far. 30 in GameScore.
"Kill one of your main targets like a true assassin."
No idea how I got this one.

Yeah, I've gotten a number of those.

I didn't realize you could jump through Merchant stands until just recently.

"Expensive"?? What do you mean expensive 30 in Game Score?

I think I've gotten over 160 Achievement Points.
