It is incredibly annoying, trust me.

I would bet, especially hearing the same ****ing question every minute.

I say somebody start a petition demanding the videogame industry as a whole have regulated street dates.

If they're releasing a game, the date they give to whoever you give it too has to be the street date, and that the game be delivered the day before the game comes out so people can get when the store opens and not, " well most games come around 1pm, while some come around 11am."

Tomorrow, I wanna to get up early so I can get Assassins Creed, get some playtime with it before work at 6pm. What I dont want to happen is to get there at 12 and having them tell me it hasnt been recieved. So annoying. I dont know how many times I was going to buy a game on an impulse, find the release date, then get there and them telling me it wont come in till tomorrow....what usually happens is that I dont buy it.

Damn. I like this game. I love running, hopping, climbing, and skipping through things and sometimes just for the hell of it. Being chased by the soldiers kinda reminded me of PoP and Disney's Aladdin movie when he ran away from those guards while singing that song he was singing.

The swords fights are kinda cool, i just wish I had more sword control. The hay jumps are always cool, of course.

I didn't expect the present day thing that went on. That took me by surprise. I thought this game entirely took place during A.C's time, but w/e. I think it'll make for and even more intriguing story. I loved the genetic memory concept.

The graphics are cool. Better than BioShocks but I think "Gears of War"'s graphics are better than A.C.'s.

I loved the use of the horse. During the beginning after playing a long while i thought if this land is so vast, won't i at least need a horse? And sure enough, moments into the game, I got a horse.

I played it for hours, mostly just messing around, until i got sleepy. I'm at the part where you have to stand atop numerous ledges for eagle eye views while trying to find the assassin's bureau or something.

But i can't wait to go home and play it again. C.O.D.4 is still sitting there unbeaten and i love that game too but right now it's all about A.C. Then you've got Mass Effect coming out soon. Yes.

I like it when good games come out like this so soon after the other. It's a rare occurrence.

Got the game, gonna play, be back later to tell about it.

Got the game and play it for about 2 hrs.

Pros so far:

LOOOOOOVE!!!!!!!!! the controls. The character moves are nearly identical to PoP Sands of Time. Awesome job Ubisoft!

The settings and backgrounds are well illustrated. It gives you that sense of walking around a real town during the crusades.

The music perfectly done. Along with the sounds of the crowd. The reaction when you make your first kill.

And now for the cons:

I hate the entire concept of

Spoiler:
Using simulations as an experiment lab to retract a memory DNA

Doesn't ruin the experience...but why not just keep it in simple? Just let it actually take place in that particular time period.

I can now see why some people didn't like that part of the game. However, that isn't enough to say this game isn't worth it.

If you're a PoP Sands of Time fan....you'll love this one.

I guarantee!

I agree with all your pros but not your cons. I liked the contemporary concept. It also made me think whether or not genetic memory is real. Kinda made me wonder if i had any stored ancestral memories. And a simple story would've been too boring. We need more games with more substance to 'em.

That idea just added more to the story which'll mean more character involvement and a more detailed story.

Agreed with pros, not with the con.

It didn't really come as any surprise though

Spoiler:
except for him having been an Assassin in present time as well, that was a surprise
watching interviews and reading up on AC should have given you an inkling.

And yes, it's a very interesting topic, if this could be done in real life it would be very cool.

Because of school and some stuff that needs doing I haven't tried much. Merely the first part and then running around in the

Spoiler:
mountain town
getting all sorts of attention. "Why does he do that?" "What is he doing?" etc, pretty fun.

And also, big spoiler....

Spoiler:
Altair can't survive a 3000 feet drop down into water!!!

I got as far as you, Morridini, in what I could play yesterday.

I actually like the contemporary Animus subplot. They made it in such a way that unavoidable gaming necessities like levels and button controls pull you more into the story instead of pushing you out of it. You're not a gamer playing a game, you're Desmond working the Animus. Major props to Ubisoft for thinking out of the box and finding a solution.

It does add an interesting topic for the story. But you can pretty much put in another like a Splinter Cell. The genetic memory part is great. Does it enhance the storyline? Well, yeah it does. Does it need it? We'll have to finish the game and see if it does.

I still opted for a more simpler storyline of a non virtua-assassin during the crusades. Aside from story...the game delivers. We'll have to wait and see how the game ends to get the end result of the story.

Yeah....I wouldn't have minded it to actually have

Spoiler:
taken place in the actual time, instead of it being present day, if not further into the future.

It would have made it more real for me. I'm still loving it though and it allows for even more storylines. We have 2 now....instead of one. That's always good.

I had only one problem with the game. Potential problem anyway.

It was saving and it froze. 😐

I kept it on just incase it would unfreeze...hoping and praying and counting.

Then I gave up and restarted the console......and miraculously the save still completed.

Phew! Rush of relief rush over me.

Okay, so I'm kind of pissed how my first official assassination went.

Spoiler:
I'm in Damascus and I go to assassinate Tamir and I catch him at an side angle by accident and he grabs me and throws me back and starts chasing me. I'm thinking he'll run away now and I hear commotion and think guards are coming.

SO I run away to get a low profile and vanish and try again after I'm off the radar. So I go to a roof top covered garden and hide. I immediately jump out. It's not possible to hide b/c it's not the guards after me..it's Tamir and one of his henchmen.

So I have to fight. So we fought on the rooftops...he's fast by the way. Caught right up to me....and I beat him up there. It wasn't even a proper assassination....just a sword fight to the death. And then I didn't even have to bother with running from guards b/c I killed him on the rooftops so the run back to the Bureau was an unfortunately eventless one.

Kind of took away from the experience how I poorly executed the whole thing.

Oh well....I'll get it right next time.

I'm quickly growing to love the combat as it fleshes out more and gets more involved.

The map turned me off at first, but it's becoming more tolerable.

Also I remember them saying something about how after a while you might feel comfortable enough to play the game without the HUD.

I dont' see how....you need it to find all of your locations and the such....unless you'll just running around playing and having fun and not worried about locations at a certain point.

By the way..I love the running around and jumping from rooftops and other structures and the climbing....

The beginning reminded me of God of War II.

Spoiler:
You start off powerful with all of your abilities and then you lose it all.

What a tease.

I would rather say it reminds of the Metroid series.

Also, is there any way to choose when to save? Or is it only saving now and then whenever itself wants to?

Anyhow, won't get much more playtime today. Hells Kitchen is on, followed by two other shows I wanna see.

Why do you have Spoiler tags for God of War 2?

I'll play A.C. when i get home at 5.30pm until 8pm when Smallville comes on and then get back on, play some COD4 followed by A.C. till im tired.

Because it's a bit of a spoiler for AC as well.

Uh Oh.

My game started lagging. It was like lagged slow motion...but a little jumpy and it happened at one of the worse times possible.

Spoiler:
I had just killed the second target and I was running away from the guards
and it just started lagging something terrible.

Then at the next point in the game where it saved and loaded up the next screen...everything was fine.

So I'm hoping that it was just a problem with that part of the game and not something that'll happen on a regular basis or not something that was just wrong with my Console.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

I've heard the game is fairly buggy. Shouldn't worry about it.

I havnt occured any bugs yet.

I'm having a really fun time. I finished the first part and got the kingdom and I've been running and jumping around picking up flags and fighting Templars.

Havnt really gotten into the game though but from what I've seen. It should be fun.

I do admit though, alot of the fun is from the parkour gameplay and not the investigating. I assuming the investigation after the "tutorial" are different and not hold your head all the way through?

the exact same thing happened to me when i did it except i was watching my friend do it. it really sucked didnt it?

i like some things about this game but mostly im disappointed. its all way too repetitive for me, all you do is like 3 different things over and over and over again with barely any reward for doing them and no reward for doing them well. like if they just put a point system for how you killed the guards or switched up the ways you get information a little more it'd make the game 100 times better.

i like the controls even if they're a little clunky sometimes, so i dont have any real problems with that. also the way they tell the story to you i think is really poor. it just doesnt feel good.

i am just coming off playing half life 2 so the bar is set really high but the little sqaure invisble wall thing when people are talking to you really bothered me. like if you're gonna restrict my movement then dont let me move at all and work a little harder on the presentation. thats probably just me but it really bothered me so i thought id mention it.

mostly though the thing is repetitive gameplay and that can kill even the best of games, which for me this time it did. as good as running and climbing buildings is, you cant do it the exact same way over and over again and still have it be entertaining. sorry about all the complaining but i thought id just get it off my chest.

I really like the game.

It's sort of Hitman, Splinter Cell with a bit of Zelda mix in with it.

I'm one of those guys who has to get all viewpoints, citizen missions, flags and Templars, but those massive cities are hard to navigate so I have no idea if missed something.

Me and these free roaming stuff is always a bad combination. I just spent an hour and a half running around killing this and that, jumping everywhere and just getting a feel of the game. Still yet managed to get out of the start town.

Yeah I have to complete all view points and missions as well. Squeezing every bit of gaming out as I can.

I'm wondering if completing all of the extra investigations actually makes it easier to assassinate the target or if it's the same either way.

You'd think with all of the information it'd be easier.....

I actually didn't even go to the Bureau in Damascus until I had completed all investigations and view points. So I'm guessing I missed out on the beginning conversation....

I go to the Bureau's first now just to hear what the guy has to say to begin with.

The guards/soldiers in the later cities definitely get more suspicious quicker. As soon as I get to a roof top it's like I'm always being told to leave. They're everywhere. Paranoid freaks.

Also, for my second assassination........I was spotted in the area up above in the rafters so it ended up being a sword fight to the death AGAIN.

Ugh. I did end up having to run away from all of the guards though so that was fun. Can't hide at all in that situation either huh?

Here's to completing the assassination flawlessly next time.......I hope....

It's like I got in there and my mind just blanked. I forgot about the useful bit of information I got from my investigation how

Spoiler:
the target goes out of reality or whatever when tending to his patients so that's the time to strike.
I completely forgot. If I had striked while he was leaning over a bed tending to a patient it would have been a quick clean kill.

By the way....I love the button presses during the dialogue scenes that allow you to see close up from a different perspective and I love the fact that you can move around during many of the dialogues...I try and play it out like a soap opera.
