Assassin's Creed [merged]

Yep.

Everything about this game is repetitive.

It's really tragic, too, the game does some things really well. It's an odd case where a innovative game actually nailed the new innovative aspects perfectly, but totally faltered on the very basic fundamentals that every game needs.

It is pretty odd.

I think it's just a case of paying too much attention to the look of the game and trying to get the "parkour" part of the game nailed down. It's strange considering the majority of people who love it is because of that reason and the majority of people who hate it is because of that reason also.

It's also a case of not paying attention to the details in the game. I cant believe a game that has amazing graphics has shitty repetitive voice work and a game that has an amazing amount of people in the game all sound the same in each city.

Yep, again, faltering on the very basic fundamentals.

Still a solid game, though. Sadly I'm already kinda sick of it just having beat the third mission because I know the next six missions are all going to be exactly the same.

I was done at the start of the 8th mission.

At the start, I tried to get all the flags, finish all the citizen missions, finish all the viewpoints and investigations, and then plan my assassination.

At the end, I stopped looking for flags and didnt even bother getting them if I saw them, didnt do any missions, and only did the three investigations which usually involved sitting on the bench or pickpocking.

The thing is that all that work is pretty useless to overall scope of the game. The flags dont give you anything (unlike Crackdown), the save the citizens missions are pointless considering fighting is a cinch and you barely have to run away, and then investigations are pointless because they dont really help you. In the end, all assassinations are the same thing, see cutcene and then kill him, usually by sneaking up or just running towards him and fight him and then stabbed in the neck when he falls down. Boring.

Yep I have the same complaint everyone else has here too reptitive.

Still the Graphics were awesome.

The controls were very tight(once you got used to them)

I really enjoyed the storyline and plot.

Some other complaints I have involve combat.

While the countering feature in combat was cool it was also way too easy. I could be surrounded by enemies but I almost no health when fighting them. I think the simple fix to this would be when you initialize a counter some kind of reaction test needs to follow, like button mashing or Analog Stick movements.

AI intelligence could also use some sprucing up. Mostly in the area of having more than one person attack at once. I could sit back and just wait for someone to attack me one at a time.

I just think that overall the combat could be a bit harder and maybe a bit more engaging.

I think the game is even easier than you think it is. I never had low health throughout the entire game. When I beat the game, a message appeared on the screen that said, "You are awesome, dominasty. You beat this game with much less effort than Newjak. Jesus Christ, Amen."

Seriously. 😐

Woops I meant to say I would almost no health when fighting them.

Well, I have to say that simply attempting to run from one end of Jerusalem to the other along the rooftops without stopping is more fun than actually doing the missions. It's incredible that Altair has so many animations when it comes to freerunning, and yet the core gameplay is repetitive.

It is really cool.

And it is a lot of fun. Jumping from rooftop to roof top.

I do about 99% of my traveling on the rooftops 😛

I'll give Assassins Creed that it is one of the best animated game out there and is clearly the best thing in the game.

When I first started walking the up to the castle and doing crazy things like jumping from rooftops is up there with open sequence of Half Life on moments I'll probably remember forever.

Oh man...I am glad you took that the way I intended. (Just a joke) I thought it was pretty funny and I couldn't resist posting it.

I have never actually played the game but from what you described, if you master the countering system, the game is a cinch.

I want to eventually play it and it sounds really fun.

Yeah, and mastering it isnt that hard.

I never really found a difference on the timing of the button press. In the end, the only time I lost health was when I tried to grab them to throw them into towers and wood and tried to something different to break up the boredem.

It really is.

You can surrounded by about 15 guys and not a single one will hit you as long as you are patient enough to not try anything and let them attack you. 😛

Still the visuals are a amazing and the plot and storyline is great.

The repetitiveness of the combat and missions are well off-balanced by the fact I was more than willing to go through it to get to the cut scenes, and get more of the story.

I liked the game. I didn't have as much of a problem with the fighting as I did with finding people, same thing everytime, got kinda boring. Great plot though.

Spoiler:
I had a question though, the girl who was the decoy, is it known if she's to play a part in the sequel? Just seemed to be of some importance

I'm at about the last mission, I think. Gotten to the point where I have to force myself to play because the game is so poor. It's ridiculous that the developers felt that it would be a good way to increase the difficulty as you went along just by increasing the number of random NPC's who randomly shove you annoyingly, since they're apparently to inept to understand that something annoying isn't fun, and it's a lazy and invalid way to increase difficulty.

i thought the fighting was to easy, although it did keep my interest longer than the redundant missions and uninspired strategy needed to accomplish them

Dont get me started on the ****ing shoving. So annoying.

I was a point on where I was just walking to go to those not so fun snich missions and I get bumped by a retard and knocked into a guard and then I'm fighting 10 guys, kill them and then do the mission. Too bad I cant finish the mission because there's another 15 guys and they all walking around like chickens saying, "what happened here". In the end, it took me an hour to do because as soon as I go out of blend (another not so fun thing), I automatically get attacked. Not fun.

It happened to me a few times. Probably the most annoying thing I've played in a long time.

Yes, the AI is another shit thing in this game, it makes no sense. Sometimes I'll kill someone right in front of a guard and the blinker will stay yellow. Other times, I'll be walking along, and I've not done anything, and if I start to run just a little I've got 10 guards on me.

Another retarded thing is that when you do the informer quests that require you to kill kill people (which are always timed, for some stupid reason), and say you kill 2, and on your way to killing the third a guard randomly attacks you, the mission instantly fails, and you have to re-kill the two guards you already killed, but not before listening to the lame conversation between you and the informer yet again.

There's no strategy in this game, it's just "I hope the guards don't randomly attack me while I'm trying to do something".

Going back to those pushing NPC's, lol, there was this one area, where there were two of them next to eachother, and they started pushing me back and fourth, quite literally, I couldn't get out of it. I had to end up killing one to proceed. Quite shameful.

The game really is the prettiest piece of shit I've ever seen.
