In Diorama 1, the attacking troops are pressing an assault. They have mounted the walls, and the interior of the city is beginning to burn.
In Diorama 2, a small band of cavlary has charged the centre of the Persian line, to engage the Persian cavalry head on; by some miracle, the small band prevails, and the gap in the line is being charged down by infantry.
In Diorama 3, disorganisation caused by an early repulse of the cavalry attack by the infantry, formed in squares, is tidied up by the leaders of the Moors. The cavalry return to the attack again and again, their armour and equipment overwhelming the foot-bound defenders.
In Diorama 4, a co-ordinated artillery and ship bombardment is weakening the defensive positions on the hills. The red-coated troops are preparing for an advance and charge that will sweep the defenders away.
In Diorama 5, the blue troops have launched a devastating attack on the right flank, sending the defenders into disarray. From that postion, they have exposed the entire Russian line.
In Diorama 6, the defenders in khaki cause heavy casualties but, few in numbers, are outflanked and must withdraw. Those in blue meet their enemies head on in mighty armed clashes, but the arrival of reinforcements for the men in field grey keeps the impetus of the attack going, and they push on forwards past the river.
