i put this on the jack's past thread, but it accidentally turned into trailer commentary so i thought i'd stick it here...
I believe Tia tried to kill him at one point... I dont know if that's Jack assuming the jar of dirt was a dumb idea, or what. lol. maybe a break-up spat?
Pintel and Ragetti both tried to kill Jack in film 1... drawing pistols on him in the cave. but that's poor counting if he meant both of them, and i really don't think Jack views them as human entities--- I don't think he would bother mentioning them here. i think it's Tia.
[COLOR=blue]I don't see Pintel, so it could just be refering to Ragetti, but i agree with you, i think it is Tia. This also might have something to do why Jack was so worried to go see Tia in DMC.
Will's face when Jack says "did no one come to save me just because they missed me?" is priceless. he gives this snort like, what the hell does that have to do with anything?!?
Lol. I noticed that too. He sort of scrunches up his face and snorts like you would do if you heard someone say something incredibly stupid.
the set- up on the trailer is interesting. question--- did Disney do the trailer themselves? or did they have a sub-company or private contractor put it together? because some of the links seem really meaningful--- "a pirate's life for me" while the Empress sails in the background may be forshadowing, the compass spinning followed by Elizabeth's face insinuates that she is actually the one who has no idea what she wants.
The whole setup of the trailer oozes foreshadowing. And I believe that Liz hasn't decided what to do, she doesn't know what she wants. She has to chose to go back to her normal life or go forward to a life at sea. She has to chose between Will and Jack. I think she is stuck in the middle. She doesn't want to (and possibly can't) go back to her life at Port Royal, but she isn't sure she wants to be a full out pirate. And I don't think i have to comment on the Jack or Will aspect. It's been said 😛
the shot of Will with his arms on that thing, looking like he's been captured, i believe are in Singapore, when he gets "captured" (makes a bargain with) Sao for Jack's life... if that's still in the script. he's wet, and the story went he was pulled out of the bath. if you check the wicked awesome clip of the swords coming through the floor, Will has his arms on that thing in the background.
I do believe he is in Singapore. It did say he was captured in Singapore in the script, and a lot of the script has proven itself true. And he is captured in the wicked awesome clip of the swords coming through the floor, which i think is in Singapore.
the thing Jack's messing with--- the round map thing with the turning parts, maybe that's some sort of astronomical "green flash" indicator he uses to get them back... lol.
lol. i have no idea what it could be. Hopefully something helpful.
the shot of the W/L kiss, i didn't notice the first time (but you all probably did) the kiss continues to the next shot-- in the middle of the battle, they are still kissing in the background. just to play devil's advocate, you wouldn't stop in the middle of an intense sea storm and battle to kiss someone who you weren't in love with. my opinion of course. there are fish dudes all around them. here's my theory: Will has asked Elizabeth to marry him so he can stab the heart (don't know what the connection is there, but i heard that's part of it... could be wrong), things are going from bad to worse, fish dudes have invaded, and Elizabeth shouts across the battle, I will or I do! they run in for a kiss, heart stabbing ensues, the tide turns and drama continues. lol. but this doesnt jibe with the Will-gets-wounded-so-Jack-brings-him-the-heart theory completely.
for all you romantics out there, frame-by-frame that kiss, because Elizabeth's foot pops.
In my opinion, it's a kiss of desperation. (Haha. The Kiss of Death and The Kiss of Desperation! Ok.) Something tells that they are even saying goodbye, just incase, or something has happened before to make them think that stopping in the middle of the battle to kiss and save the relationship is necessary.
In the case of the 'marry me' line, though i agree that the scene where liz says 'this is not the best time' is not directly attached to the 'marry me' line, they want to make us believe that she is delaying the marriage. Or, Since what she says is a huge, gigantic, mega-spoiler, they just use the delay excuse again.
the first shot of Will after the "Orlando Bloom" thing shows him re-aiming a pistol, a little tease for that scene where everybody has their pistols pointed at each other, which ought to be hilarious.
It's like the beginning of the sword fight in DMC. It should be funny.
When Jack says that "one of y
so is the rumour about Jack the monkey burning down singapore true? Cause while they are sailing away, Singapore is definately up in flames.
I didn't hear that rumor..the monkey is going to burn down Singapore? That's interesting..
Tia is wearing the locket, BTW. in both shots of her.
That pretty much proves her connection with Davy, although we were pretty sure before.
ou succeeded in killing me" bit, Elizabeth avoids Will's gaze (typical Will angry/confusion face), and immediately looks at Tia... why? Did Tia already know? Or is she afraid Tia will strike her dead? Meanwhile, Barbossa is looking at Elizabeth with what looks like to me pride/admiration/respect. wink
She glances at Will first and then over. She might be scared of Tia, maybe Tia already knew, but she looks like she is just glancing around nervously to see what everyone thinks of her.
why the heck does Norrie only get 1 tiny moment in the trailer?
I wish Norrie got more time 🙁. He is supposed to be super important. I am sure he'll get more time in the movie though.
the other two pirate lords look amazing... no teague?
I'm not sure if I have this straight..is Teague originally the Pirate Lord? And he passed the Lordship to Jack? And the other lords look awesome.

True, Liz isn't necessarily being coy, but I wouldn't put her at being dead serious, either. Her tone is very similar to her smugness during the curiosity scene in DMC. She's not really baiting him, but she's definitely trying to get under his skin and he just oozes sexiness in response. Who can resist that?
She seems exhausted by his interest, as though she's gone from being the one who controls their interactions to not knowing how to handle what she's created. Also, the tone of her voice is very flat, like she's depessed. I wouldn't call it flirting this time.

this is the pic i wanna work on i have to go now ummm see what yall think does thta not look like Jack falling? ok cant put it up dirctly just click the link byes
I don't think Jack is flirting either...I think Jack is being dead serious....he's just so sexy....I think he's telling her....I've had enough of these games....you can deny it all you want...but you'll never be rid of me, I'm in your blood now...darling....I love that smug smile he gives her.....remember Jack knows that her heart is the same as his....
If you look at his eyes though, there is a hint of desperate sadness. I think this is probably the point where he realizes that he's probably lost her. And I have a feeling this is probably pretty late in the movie because Murtogg and Mullroy are in the background watching the proceedings.
I don't know if y'all remember the scene in which Jack and Elizabeth were supposed to fight in his cabin, but I have a feeling that this is a scene that replaces said scene.
Wait....there is no flirting in what Jack and Liz were saying.
My analysis:
When Elizabeth said that, she does not sound convinced. Her voice was almost trembling. Like when she kissed and Jack and leaned for another--she trembled. I can freaking hear it because Im always wearing headphones to listend.
Jack: Keep telling youself that, darlin'
In other words, you keep telling youself that but it's not going to change anything. Elizabeth was trying to convince herself, Jack, not to mention the crew, that the relationship with Jack will never work.
Why would she say that in front of a crew? The crew was looking at her. Watch the trailer and you will see.
Jack was not flirting, nor anything. He responded to Liz very smoothly and very Jack. He is like "yeah, right..."
My thought is that the scene isn't all the way connected. I think they did some editing in the same way that they edited the proposal scene. Like Elizabeth had some more to say and then Jack unleashes his line. What we don't know is what brought on the conversation?
If you think about it, the conversation is similar to the one in Empire Strikes Back between Han Solo and Leia. Not to appear too much like a nerd or anything.
