omg, i was just looking back on all the stuff we've said on this thread..and we have such good idea's! (like you don't already know that 😛 ) I think we should make a fic, like a script for world's end, using ALL the scenes from the trailer and clips, and what we know so far, along with the spoilers, and when the movie comes out, see how accurate we were.
The thing in the cannon reminds me of those hula girl you stick in your car. I bet there is a lot of "junk" on the Pearl. Jack and his crew seem like packrats.
This whole business about James' sword is interesting. You must have good eyes because I never would have caught that. This doesn't mean James is dead at this point, though. If he's a baddie during this point he might have thrown it up to Davy or something. Or maybe James was taken prisoner by the pirates, then converted to their side but his sword was left behind and Davy decided to use it. Who knows?
girls...I am so emotinally drained over this movie....if someone had told me this time last year that I would be so hooked on this movie I would never have believed it...I mean I knew i really enjoyed the Pirate Movie and I fell in love with Johnny Depp...but I had no idea what one kiss in DMC would do to my world....this is insane....I can't stop thinking about Jack and Liz and this movie...and what it's actually going to be like...
I wouldn't say that Tia and Beckett are in cahoots, but I would wager that Tia is not as friendly as she seems. She has an agenda, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is not necessarily in allignment with the pirates. After all, they were the ones to imprison her in human form.
I would also venture a guess that Tia has an hand in manipulating the lives of our three leads in order to meet or achieve her needs. If she knows their future, she can try to bend it to her will. Such as convincing Will that he has a touch of destiny, for instance.
Beckett is after Calypso (Tia) because she is the sea, she can control it. He's after world domination and controlling the sea is the way to do it.

The pirates improsined her to save Calypso and to save the pirates.
I don't think Calypso is going to against the pirates, and I don't think she has nothing to do with Beckette--about the wedding. Because of Beckette, they had to improsin calypos into human form. So I doubt he would recognize her or bother in searching for her.
I really think she is not evil. People see her and the first thing they say that she is bad news. I don't think so. She may manipulate, she sees your destiny and future, but she doesn't do anything as by powers to cahnge things. She is more like a guide. She sees destiny, but its up to the person to do it.
Anyways that's my opinion.
It's possible. I've been accused before of reading too much into things. But in a movie filled with characters who are on their own side, I'd be surprised to find she was inherrently good. It's in her best interest to defeat Beckett with the pirates, I'll say that for certain, but beyond that her goal through out the movie is to be released and be free again. Since she's already been dubbed by Jack and Gibbs, as well as herself as being "changeable" or untrustworthy, I'd say she has a double cross in her to get what she wants.
sorry to interupt the sword discussion and I don't really have time to go through all the post and see if anyone said this but in one clip we see becket play with one of the pieces of eight! I know most ppl must have noticed it.
Just thought it was interesting that we got to see one of them! Always wondered what they looked like
