Mind you, I'm no fan of Will, but I do feel a bit sorry for him that the only compensation folks can come up with for him, should he lose Elizabeth, is his father. I mean, sure, he loves his father and wants to save him ... but it's surely not the same as the romantic love of your life?

Alina, Elizabeth might have done it on a "selfish impulse", quote from Jack. But at the same time it helpped him.
Though I still call it murder, be we cannot misjudge Elizabeth for her actions. Jack was going to stay behind--but not for his pearl. For the crew and that mostly includes Elizabeth. He knows his time is up. Bootstrap: "Time's up, Jack."
Elizabeth chaining Jack to the mast was like a way of "just in case you change your mind." But she used a stupid excuse on kissing him to "slake down her lust" and knows how vulnerable Jack is...
She is learning from her mistake, and is somewhat regreting in Tia's hut.
Jack is not piss with Elizabeth on killing him. Jack is pissed because she won't admit her feelings and wants to ignore the fact that they both may have something going..
