Oh, I forgot to add something from the comic. When Jack abandon his crew while escaping from the Kraken.

It says that the compass was pointing to the pearl(material object) to fight side by side with his crew mates.......

And with the woman whom he loves.

Ha, Surreal is going to have a field day with this and tear it to shreds, but I really can't see how the compass could work any other way, other than to point to material objects.

Though, the writers have said that the comics aren't accurate. Where did the writers of the comic get their interpretation, I wonder?

A friend of mine is equally obsessed with Pirates. She took all the quotes from the writers on Wordplayer which is their site, and collected them.

Should we put those up for discussion? Some of the comments are actually very interesting.

We had a thread girls a while back and it was titled the AWE Script Spoilers...Ericadawn and I posted some of that 36 pager script on there and discussed it...but I too found it hard to dissect the script...and kind of got burned out..

So to move on with Davy, what WILL happen to him. Eventually, he will die. But how will his death come about? And how will Calypso react?

Er, just a quick question. I know that there is a lot of symbolism in these films, but when did a Kraken's mouth become a vagina? Who thought of that, and what scary world did they come from that a vagina has teeth?

I think I get it actually, which scares the living day lights out of me. I read an essay by a film student, not Lovelyone incidentally, analyzing the film from a Feminist persuasion. In that anaylsis, they say that the Kracken is a female symbol and Jack's sword is the male....You put two and two together. This isn't a health class...Anyway, that's probably where the idea came from.

Ok, well we know Davy makes it through the movie up until the climatic clash between Pirates and the ETTC. Having his heart abroad the Dutchman makes him feel emotions, which he HATES.
Somehow, somewhere Calypso is released, so it makes me wonder if they ever get a reunion before he loses his ship to Will.

I know.

The whirlpool is Calypso. She casts herself into the sea. She is angry. So before all that had to happen, how will they both react when they see eachother?

Real question is, does Davy know that's really Calypso trapped in human form?
