Putting it all together...spoilers

He must know that she's Calypso because I remember hearing that he had a hand in her capture.

Also, there is a picture or an artist's rendering of what Jones looked like before he was a Fish Face. And since there are no flashbacks in the film, there must be a time when we see him in his human form.

I've heard that the reunion between Calypso and Davy will be touching. I also imagine that the pieces of the story that we've been told about the Calypso/Davy saga are either not entirely correct, or may have been exagerated like Jack's legend.
I suspect that Calypso was not so fickle as they have made it seem.

Hmm..

What about the aftermath..After the heart is stabbed. Because Calypso is angry, waves are crashing strong. Then only thing that could calm her down is Davy's death.

I suppose that would make her calm. But why? Is it because they'll finally be at peace and can be together? Or because she really despises him for trapping her in human form?

I know that the whirl pool is, what I call, the whirl pool of PMS or vengeance.

She is angry at the pirates who imprisoned her. She wasn't ever in the pirates side. She wanted to use them so she could be released and cast herself into the sea.

Notice how the waves crashing in while Will kisses Liz...

oo cool

whirlpool of PMS lolo

You made an interesting observation about the waves during the Will and Elizabeth kiss. That could explain the rough seas come to think of it. If Calypso has her sight set on Will becoming the next captain.

She is still manipulating him.

I think that each character, especially the trio, have a touch of destiny.

I'm going to rewind for a bit at the very beginning of DMC:

Elizabeth: I think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding.

which i think is the very wave that washes her of the ship into the ocean....where i think she then turns around and sees Jack fall of the Mast of the ship and then screams the very-controversial "JACK" that we see in the trailer! 😄

That's a bit off scene.

Where she screams, her hair is up--where she is talking to bootstrap. In the scene where the waves crashes in and all, her hair is down.

BUT! She does scream Jack. Just not in the scene that you're talking about.

Explain Chiki--I can see where you're going. They were all destined to be pirates, on some levels. But what do you mean?

Wait a minute, what do you know?!

Ah!

*covers mouth*

You want me to talk, eh? lol

Ha! Seriously-- don't make me go all Beckett on you and pull out my pirate brand to get you to talk.

HAHA!

I'll start with the Liz talking to Bootstrap.

Bootstrap was talking to Liz, from the leaked script, that he did something..well bad. I'll look for the lines later. I can't recall how that came about, but she later escapes and is in the water.

And how do you know what is said in this scene? It's not in the 36 pager....

Ok, but how do you know she screams Jack in another scene?

I'll get that of the script for ye, savvy.

About her screaming for Jack.

Me and me mates practice like idiots in a mirror.

It's not James.

She's not gasping for air.

If you opened your mouth--without screaming..Prounce the word JACK as if screaming, then it fits.

There are about 89% that says is Jack. And not even all of them are sparrabethers.

"I think I get it actually, which scares the living day lights out of me. I read an essay by a film student, not Lovelyone incidentally, analyzing the film from a Feminist persuasion. In that anaylsis, they say that the Kracken is a female symbol and Jack's sword is the male....You put two and two together. This isn't a health class...Anyway, that's probably where the idea came from."----------savvysparrow.

Yeah, she had a whole theory that it was the sex he was SUPPOSED to have and it kind of went hand in hand with the key/chest = Will/Liz thing. Will has to find the key, Liz (the girl) is supposed to find the chest. Rod A goes into Slot B....

That makes complete sense. I think it takes more than heartbreak to make someone so bitter and angry they become as sadistic as Davy is. He never wastes an opportunity to make someone suffer even more. He really is the devil of the sea. I think there had to have been a dark side to him in his former life that maybe Calypso saw a little too late and felt jilting him was a way to protect herself. I can't see either of them being completely innocent.

Er, just a quick question. I know that there is a lot of symbolism in these films, but when did a Kraken's mouth become a vagina? Who thought of that, and what scary world did they come from that a vagina has teeth?

Abstract thoughts and theories are sometimes waaaay out of my grasp, so someone either explain it to me in here or in PM, 'cuz it doesn't seem er...complimentary. 😛

I found it...I found it..been searching the archives..and here is the initial post by LovelyOne compairing the Kracken to a Vagina.....(I hate that word)....

I agree with you^^

Also back to the hat theory (hat/Liz)... I think the finding of the hat to jack was like his confirmation that he realised it was Liz he was after he said "oh" in such a way as if he was pleasently surprised that he had it finally. He also picks it up with such a confidence. And he dives into the Kraken. Its like Liz gave him that extra bit of strength.

Also that thing kinda resembled giant Vagina to me..the fact it spat out the hat (resembles liz) kinda hints Orgasm..I'm not even kidding. It was like an echo of the satisfaction Liz just got from him. He enters it as if to satisfy it and himself....Its all pretty symbolic to what just happend between the two..

^^^^^ 😱 🤣 😆

See? She stirred the waters while she was here and I miss debating her.
