They are intimidated by her grace and majesty, range and scope of ability, and most especially, her self-possessiveness, which covers not only her own person and psyche, but, by nature of her abilities, to the environment around her. She represents a powerful archetype many can not relate to because it comes so close to a perfected being, to Goddess. Claremont has somehow made a (close to) 3-dimensional goddess. Sadly, most other writers can only mimic what he does, creating a sloppy interpretation without his intrinsic understanding. Hence, we get so many strange versions of Storm under the pens of men who can not seem to relate to a powerful woman."

I'm inclined to agree. Storm potentially has the power set to do what they claim but I don't think there is evidence she can do it on a grand enough scale. If she's show to have a power source that would make that possible or given feats that really show this potential I'd be willing to place her at a higher level.
Personally I think that Storm as having power over weather rather than a cosmic is far more interesting and in fact more impressive for Storm.
