I got a question, I don't know if your page numbering are the same to NZ.. but on my page 551 - the conversation between DD and Snape about Harrys forthcoming death
"But this is touching, Severus." said Dumbledor seriouls. "Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?'
From the tip of hiswand burst the silver doe: she landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
"After all this time?"
"Always" said snape.
- Right now what does Dumbledore mean when he says "After all this time" Does he mean after all this time, you cared about Harry? But then what does that have to do with his doe.. is it that DD realises he got the sword to him.. but DD already knew this, as it was already his instructions for Snape to do this..
Spoiler:
Things that bugged me with this book. Only two I can think of at the moment. One. Hedwig's death. This was the ONLY death that bothered me in the book... I think there is something wrong with me. I don't care for human death but animals bug the shit out of me.Two. JKR decided to make a little joke on Homer, the Epic Poetry writer. Quote from the book. "Neville is not an idiot and Luna is not an oddity!" said Hermione.
This being derived the from youths jokes on the epic poems, The Iliad and The Odyssey... What is the world coming to.
Originally posted by spidergrlThe doe Patronus was the same as Lily. It proved that after all these years, Snape still loved Lily.

What do you mean?
Question of my own. Here's a quote from the book.
Spoiler:Can someone explain this for me?Lily's bright green eyes were slits. Snape backtracked at once.Page 674, Deathly Hallows
Originally posted by ndfreako.o I just want to explain why her eyes turned to slits. It's something most humans... umm... scratch that, no human can do. Cept Voldemort.
what is it you want explained about the quote. Snape understood that lilly was mad and he saw the slit like eyes and was scared. It was either because he loved lilly and was scared to see her mad, or because he had seen slit like eyes before on someone very dark.
Just me assuming this. I mean,
Spoiler:
if Neville is a teacher, I'd assume he is most likely a head of house. And just because he teaches Herbology doesn't make him head of Hufflepuff either. JKR pretty much has said the heads of houses were pretty much expected to be in their house when they went to school. So I'm just say. Head of Gryffindor House.... Mr. Longbottom who teaches Herbology?
