I see. Sorry for misunderstanding. But out of all the arcade shooter series that have been release Call of Duty has been the best.
What gameplay additions that BF2 added outside of squad system and commander perspective. The squad mechanic is cool but considering BF1942 was the first to do that huge style of battle with vehicles and planes while BF2 added a somewhat useless squad mechanic and useless commander position ( for general play) that its hardly as innovating than its first game.

The CoD series only had only 2 1/2 to 3 good games though while MoH has had way more games, not including expansion packs, and has been one of the most, if not the most, successful arcade shooter series. It almost seems as if CoD wouldn't exist, at least at the level it was, (at that time), if it weren't for MoH.
But that's your opinion, and you're rightfully entitled to it.
And BF'42 and BF2 may've been the same thing to you but to me, BF2 had enough features in it that made it distinguishable enough for me to (completely) forget about BF'42. Which I did seamlessly because of BF2. (online)

3 good games out of four isnt bad you know. The only good MoH game is Allied Assault.Pacific Assault and its console games have been lackluster.
What did BF2 add that makes it so different than the first? I'm curious.
lotsa thing. I can't remember to much, it's been a couple of years scince i played the game but the had they that ability to be a commander while online and do things never done before. There were better and more vehicles. There was just more to do.
I give you that BF2 is a better game than 1942, but as innovating, not even close.
It's almost identical to the first two games and the feature it added like squad combat and the commander were somewhat usueless unless your playing in a ultra competitive clan match with other clans. But in public servers, its almost identical.
The game starts, everybody rushes to get points, than alot of camping, tanks usually blow up, or blow up people. Generally there is a few people waiting for that 1 plane and that 1 plane usually blows up 1 tank and then the game stays roughly the same until 1 single person takes over a control point and then the whole thing repeats itself. That 's usually what happens. BF2 just makes it faster to join up but somewhat more annoying because there is a ton of grenade spam in that game. All you need is a 3 guys at support and then a ton of guys throwing grenades because they constantly respawn from throw ammo bags.
****ing annoying.
Yeah, the only amount of xp that drops is the match bonus 'cause if you're rank 1 in any prestige level you get about 20 xp points after one team deathmatch and even less in an Search and Destroy match, however if you're rank 30-55 you get over 100 in Team deathmatches and maybe over 50 between each round of a Search and Destroy match.
HOT DAMN! I can't wait to download these! I saw the article in this month's EGM magazine. They should be released by the month's end, I hear.
I found this on Youtube:
Ok I got around to trying Creek and Brodcast now, ChinaTown later.
So far, I'm loving these maps.
Brodcast:
I get a Rainbow Six feeling when running inside past computers and desks etc, a very nice new atmosphere. Unlike what I had previously thought, ti has a pretty great outdoors area as well. And there is so much destructible environment, I kept getting knifed because I was busy blowing up TVs and whatnot.
Great map.
Creek:
At first this just looked like a new "Overgrown" map, but it actually has some more color. After running around with a shotgun for 2 min I quickly changed to a Sniper. This map is definitely a Snipers wet dream, plenty of places to sit down and just snipe, snipe and snipe. However I didn't have much use for my claymores, being mostly outdoors you could approach a sniper from 360 directions. Surprisingly (I haven't payed too much attention to the vids etc), it has a lot of indoors as well, plenty of nice little houses spread out on the one side of the creek to let silly players not get sniped.Another great map, can't really choose one.
So if I am in a close combat mood, I go to Brodcast.
If I am in a sniper mood, I'll go to Creek.
