Yes and you could use that as proof that the mind control affected his fighting ability. If his fighting ability is on par with his usual performance or even better then that suggests that the mind control hasnt done anything to his performance.
Come to think of it my opinion isnt much different to yours. I would agree that one can assume that mind control is a mind tampering influence and therefore can affect ability, but im simply saying if the character peforms like his usual self or even better than I wont assume that the mind control affected things negatively.

superman being mind controlled heavily affects his fighting skill. i agree it shouldn't be taken in to account as an example of his fighting skills.
