calling for a new vote on sentinel. seems people can't even decide whether he can beat sinestro definitively. i've been asking for a while and never received an answer as to why sentinel is in the trans-tier. i've made a couple threads with him against herald levellers and they've always been about split. so, i'm all for moving alan down to herald. thoughts?
so, maybe YOU can explain the reasoning grok? seriously. this thread is meant to be like any other. if a character is placed in a tier, there should be clear evidence to support that decision.
i have absolutely no problem with him being there IF there is evidence to show he is CLEARLY above the likes of hal or ss. if he's not, he shouldn't be there.
Anyway, to answer you (finally), I think the best case for Sentinel was made by Blair over in Alan's respect thread. It includes the often-heralded "Book-Writing" feat, which is planetary in scope. But there's lots more. It should also be noted that his wood weakness is gone as Sentinel.
I don't know if it ends up equaling Trans. I suppose a case could be made either way. Some of his "most experienced GL ever" or "one of the most powerful men in the universe" stuff is just words. But a fair amount is shown too. Stuff like single-handedly powering a futuristic city-world for an indefinite amount of time lends credibility to him having more power than any but the best heralds and many Trans. characters. And he's got some shockingly good speed feats too. I never got around to scanning in the few additions I'd be able to make to his thread, but it's nothing mroe impressive than what is shown.
You may have perused all of that, but if you haven't I'd encourage you to. I personally think we're dealing with someone who is straddling the line between the two tiers. I won't vote because of that, but your objections to him being Trans. aren't unfounded.
I also dislike the "vs. threads to determine a tier." Too much misinformation and flippant opinions that aren't grounded in a more analytical approach. Not always bad, but seldom entirely reliable.

Alan doesn't belong in trans, IMO. For moving him to high herald until someone shows me something worthy of a trans ranking.

...that alone makes him at least HH (that's the Earth it's encompassing, btw). Focused for other purposes, that's a one-shot to any planet. And that's ignoring all of his other feats.

planet-busting is something most of the heralds can do though. i looked through the respect thread--i'd looked before but not for a while, and really didn't see anything in there was was beyond some of the high end GL feats (hal has some absolutely ludicrous feats in his thread) or the ss's stuff.
after reviewing the evidence, i still think he should be a herald. 😬

Most in the herald tiers? Doubtful. I'd venture to say almost no one could in low herald. Maybe some of the mids, and the majority of the highs. But there's a difference from being able to destroy a planet and being able to one-shot it. Sentinel pretty clearly can one-shot. And I don't count more than a handful of high heralds who can do that. Maybe Surfer. Maybe some incarnation of Superman (AS?). Maybe Thor? I doubt even him. No, that kind of raw power is reserved for those in Trans, the likes of which really can one-shot planets, or toss them around like SBP.
I maintain that he has as much raw power as any high herald, and more than all but possibly Surfer. Hal and Kyle have more versatility feats, granted. But not power. Anything they've done on that level has been with some sort of powerup (Parallax, Ion, etc.)
