There wear a lot of Roman Emperors that were also divine and god themselves. There was even a king of Babylon that was his own father.

There's also this old Asian guy living in India who shaves his head and really likes orange clothes, who is apparantly divine.

Do you know what the difference between them and Jesus Christ is...they're still in the grave. But Jesus...Jesus is He Who lives and was dead, and behold, Jesus is alive forevermore. Amen.

When is he coming back anyways? People have been claiming "this is the year", for hundreds of years. Do you think it will be in '08?

No, I don't think that Jesus will return in '08. I believe that when the time is right the trumpet will sound and believers all over the world will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
But it is possible for the Lord to return in 2008.

Why does God need a trumpet?
People have been claiming that this gathering you speak of will happen "this year"; for hundreds of years too, seems like circular thinking, no?
"It's gonna happen someday, maybe not in your lifetime, but watch, it will happen!"

From a life of sin.
I was never an adherent of another religion (although believers don't consider our faith in Jesus to be a religion, but a relationship). I guess I misunderstood what you meant by convert.

God does not need anything (or anyone). God is a God of protocol and procedure. The trumpet will announce the entrance of Jesus Christ to earth (remember Jesus is God-King and the trumpet announces His regality, presence, and royalty).

I thought so. The converts are always the loud, annoying diehards.
On your spare time, do you stand on a street corner with a megaphone telling everyone they're going to hell?

Sure, but i'd still like to know how "unconditional" in the christian understanding doesn't apply to the conventional, non-christian understanding of the term.

Hence my question, "why does God need a trumpet?", if God is needless? Do you really think people won't listen to Jesus-god unless he's properly introduced by way of trumpet? You're attributing human needs and qualities to an omnipotent, omniscience and abstract concept; it's madness.

Truth be told.
Seems the more uncertain one is in knowing that they've chosen the right path, the more desperate they're in to pulling others unto the same path for self reassurance. It's the "if Billy, John, Mike and Jane are doing it, then it must be okay" mentality.
