Seriously, at least in yu-gi-oh, they somewhat explain the origin of the game better. The monsters look better and actaully destory each other rather then gay-ass fainting. Also at least people die in it and it's more grown up. If you watched the final season it has torture, killing, sword fighting, demons and angels. the first season sucked and then it got steadly better.
i just don't like it. i mean its a tired concept, play Magic or something. pokemon was, and still is, fresh, new and innovative, bringing more and more to the table with each generation. The fainting is a miss translation from the Japanese, the were originally knocked out from exhaustion. And if the monsters were destroyed, how come they always came back in the next duel? The game also has limited strategy: there is no need to change your deck. with pokemon, you are frequently adapting to new environments and challenges. although i will admit that the story line is slightly tired, it still never gets boring.
oh, and i finf it weird how yu-gi seems to posses some of his monsters powers.
