Well, 16 or seventeen years old is hardly a kid....How old do you have to be to obtain the gun in some States?
EDIT: I just saw a video of Cho where you can tell he was terribly troubled. He mentions the Columbine Killers and he refers to Jesus Christ.
Troubling. When he made the video I do not know, how they got the tape I do not know. I think they said he left it for them or something. By what he said, I'm guessing he planned all along to kill himself.
AND YES HE DID KILL HIMSELF.

Where did you see that? Was it on the net. I heard from a friend today that allegedly stories have been found on his computer which basically match his crime. Troubling stuff.

... No age restriction? Where is this?

So a five year old could buy a gun? I doubt that
"• Seven states have no legal minimum age for
a child buying rifles or shotguns from a private
seller. 18 states have no minimum age for possession
of these guns, and 13 states have a
minimum age between 12 and 16.
• Six states have no legal minimum age for
a child to possess handguns. Five states
set the minimum age between 14 and 16.
(Federal law stipulates a minimum age
of 18 to possess handguns, but the survey
found that state policy prevails in enforcement.)"
The report is from 2000 however and thus may be outdated.

They had a little booklet of his too that he made with almost artisitc photographs of hollow bullets. Pictures of him. Bunches of pages of writing. Knives, guns and the such.

Be aware that there are some very disturbing images of the killer.

Never underestimate mans ability to conjure innovative ways to kill each other. If it wasn't firearms it would have been something else... Improvised bomb, poison, unleashing rabid monkeys, whatever.
Look at the person responsible, his upbringing, don't displace blame. It's not a weapons or a video games fault that this happened.
For the heck of it, here's some firearm stats:
Some U.S. statistics
The National Center for Policy Analysis, a conservative think tank, reported the following statistics:[7]
New Jersey adopted what sponsors described as "the most stringent gun law" in the nation in 1966; two years later, the murder rate was up 46 percent and the reported robbery rate had nearly doubled.
In 1968, Hawaii imposed a series of increasingly harsh measures and its murder rate, then a low 2.4 per 100,000 per year, tripled to 7.2 by 1977.
In 1976, Washington, D.C., enacted one of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. Since then, the city's murder rate has risen 134 percent while the national murder rate has dropped 2 %.
Over 50% of American households own guns, despite government statistics showing the number is approximately 35%, because guns not listed on any government roll were not counted during the gathering of data. [9]
Evanston, Ill., a Chicago suburb of 75,000 residents, became the largest town to ban handgun ownership in September 1982 but experienced no decline in violent crime.
Among the 15 states with the highest homicide rates, 10 have restrictive or very restrictive gun laws.
20 percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just 6 percent of the population - New York, Chicago, Detroit and Washington, D.C. - and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns.[8]
UK banned private ownership of all handguns in 1997. Since 1998 the number of people injured by firearms in England and Wales has more than doubled, despite massive increase in number of police personnel.[9]
Violent crime accelerated in Jamaica after handguns were banned.
On the other hand, the FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report ranking of cities over 40,000 in population by violent crime rates (per 100,000 population) finds that the ten cities with the highest violent crime rates for 2003 include three cities in the very strict state of New Jersey, one in the fairly restrictive state of Massachusettes, where as the rest have recently adopted laws that allow for the carrying of a handgun with a permit.:[10]

No, that's incredibly unlikely. They blamed the kids at the colombine(sp?) incident for video games because they were just normal(well kinda) kids. This guy actually had bad mental problems identified as a danger to himself and those around him.
