USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (COMBAT)- 'The Real'

Move or fight, not both.

Move, Run, I'll try to get to the cockpit.

What's that going to achieve? Three more there.

Ares fires a burst upwards at the Sentinel at 9 o'clock High (H/0).

Melis finishes off the Sentinel attacking her.

"Melis, moving starboard," she alerts everyone via headset.

Lunging for his calamari cooker, Hawk swings it up to fry the Sentinel.

San, you should probably join up with Melis on that one...

Mors will hammer out the round.

"The power plant..." Mors mutters, eyeing it with distaste. "Captain, what are we doing here?"

(My gun should have cooled to 10 this turn, as opposed to somehow heating up more 😛 )

Yeah, was planning on doing that...

"Doesn't appear to be anything else coming in here at the moment, so I'll come and join you." San replies to Melis, keeping watch for anything that could come at her.

Oh, adding to my post...

"Yeah, um, Sequel? Please don't let those guns hit us..." Ares says, eyeing the missile launchers on the sensors. "That would be bad."

I'll fight then.

Well,
Not having sequel Die seems like a good idea.

Apologies again- having corrected myself about the starboard section being the one unde rassualt, I then erroneously swapped damages. Damages were actually accurate, I just got my nomenclature mixed up.

It would mean firing through a hole in the turret, Fire, by which point you are probably in rather more trouble.

Good firing, Cloud! Clean kill.

Burn takes... a LOT of hits from the two sentinels he dashes past, in time to arrive at the equally dangerous cockpit, where Ariadne is fighting. Dallas arrives at this point also.

Err, Hawk, it's outside. That's no good.

Incoming missle!

-----

You are taking fire! Each section takes d6 damage from hard ammo. Missiles incoming! They are seeking and cannot reasonably be avoided, though they can possibly be shot out.

Ariadne kills a sentinel but is under combined attack as Burn (with 'friends) and Dallas arrive.

"Bring us straight in, Sequel!" yells Dallas. "They won't fire at us near the towers!"

"These bastards will still eat us though!" responds Sequel, as Dallas takes aim.

Going to be quite a fight there.

Meanwhile, Cloud, you are clear, but you will be bleeding out without a medicine roll.

San, climbing out the Engine room, there is a lovely big hole in the rear section, through which another sentinel just crawled in.

Sentinels on the outside are going for barb and Finn... and one sentinel just got into your turret from behind, Barb. Surprise! Takes a turn to pick up your gun.

Starboard section on the Percy will reach critical damage at 30. At 40 it will no longer exist, which effectively dooms the ship.

I'll head for the cockpit. "Where do you need me sir?"

I'll try and heal the wound now, while I have some peace.

Okay, if we can't get that starboard section cleared out within the next few turns, we're going to have to have Marduk ram the ship...if that's even still an option at that point, as we're outside.

So I vote that Cloud heads to help Melis right now, and San will get over there as quickly as possible...assuming she can kill this one and move quickly enough to help. Yeah, the three of us suck with guns, but at least teaming up will greatly increase our chances.

If that section hits...32-ish, though, before any of us can effectively get in there and kill anything, I'd say we'll have to call it a loss and have Marduk take care of it and just hope we get out of it okay.

At this moment, though, San will be firing at the sentinel that just appeared.

Sadly no, nothing to ram outside. Besides, the section is too damaged to take it now.

Damn.

So we need to move and take care of that as fast as possible, or we're all really dead.

Figured I'd be screwed like that.

Hawk will move away from the giant, evil, spidery yet squid-like machine of painful death towards a gun to shoot it with.

We'll I'll fire at one of the sentinals in the cockpit

Ares lets his gun cool, refusing to overheat his weapon despite the incoming missiles...

How long do we have until they hit?
