USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (COMBAT)- 'The Real'

Started by Bespin Bart50 pages

Mors continues hammering out the round, stabilizing himself on a collection of wires as missiles rock the ship.

Melis attacks that Sentinel again, since it refused to die.

Quick orders from Barb - grab gun and get ready to fry the sentinel.

Cloud- you are all patched.

Complete miss from San, and the sentinel leaps at her...

Three kills in the cockpit!

Percy is in luck- three successes from Finn brings down their missile.

Shez is in no lluck at all as you appear to have no firers available. The missiles hit, doing ten points of damage a-piece port and starboard. Both ships are thoroughly raked with fire once more.

Another one in, Cloud.

The ships race over to the towers of humanity, and in such close proximity the guns and missiles stop firing.

-

"Finn," says Marduk, sounding oddly calm. "We've lost it. I'll need a bypass starboard for as long as we stay up. It won't be long."

Dallas is too busy fighting to give orders, of course.

There's bad stuff... oh... everywhere. Percy is groaning as she starts to fall apart. Shez is full of sentinels, and the whine of the engines about to go if reaching its crescendo. Sentinels on the Shez's skin are going for all the remaining turrets.

EVENT- Cumulative damage on Shez has caused power failure to turrets. Guns inoperable.

Those missiles rather got you I am afraid.

Oh we are SO screwed now.

I really have no bright ideas for this one...ahhhh....

San will shoot at her sentinel again, while likely coming up with a very interesting string of cursing about the fact that she can't hit the damn thing...

Barb says he will fry his squid as well.

"****, and I'd been doing a good job keeping those Sentinels off, too," Ares curses. Satisfied with how much his gun has cooled, he swivels it around to take a shot at the Sentinel, when he realizes that the gun hasn't moved with his directions.

"Turrets are ****ed," Ares alerts everyone. "Ditch 'em, we'll have to fight 'em on the inside!"

Ares will grab his calamari cooker and head over to Mors' turret, since they'll be able to crawl straight in.

Mors groans at having wasted time and effort repairing his gun just for it to shut down on him.

"Hawk, get to the main deck," Mors says. "Abandon the turrets."

Mors will grab his calamari cooker and prepare to intercept the Sentinels as they enter through the gaping hole behind his turret.

Melis will move to help Cloud with his Sentinel problem.

"Should I stay out of starboard, Captain?" Melis asks, knowing the answer but just wanting to hear it from someone else.

"Don't you guys ever give up!?" Cloud yells, zapping again.

Fix-it rolls made in the damaged areas (i.e. where the missiles just hit) could re-connect the turrets, btw... though it may be late in the day seeing as senintls are about to eat them all.

Fire, you arrive... err... kinda late to help out.

Barb fries his quid; he has one trying to cut its way in, though!

"Ah, bollocks anyway!" yells Finn. He blasts off three bursts to destroy his attackers, not even bothering to check if the turret is still working or not. "Lower turret off-line, Captain. I'm on my way."

Not a kill, Cloud... and back to the fight, as it jumps in!

"Someone cover Finn!" says Marduk. "We're losing all the connections on starboard; we'll fall out the damn sky if he doesn't bypass them."

Melis, your Fix-It is good. That's a temporary solution only. This ship's doomed; you can count its remaining flight time in minutes.

Ok, I am no longer bothering to track sentinels, as on both ships the sensors are failing, and only one of you is really in a position to look anyway, and in any case- it's just 'lots' everywhere now.

Damage is hefty all around; there are enormous gaps on both ships in all areas. I will desscribe specific effects as they happen.

There is an enormous rending sound from the Percy rather like the ship starting to fall apart, caused by the ship starting to fall apart. Starboard section is lost and with it, the ship. This is your final flight, and indeed at this point the music from the climax of Final Flight should be playing.

The sentinels in the Shez cockpit have been destroyed but alert sirens are blaring all over the ship. The engines are being cut away- which is not helping their situation- and there are tons of them pouring into the sides of the ship.

Dallas wants them stopped.

"They're in the engine room," says Ariadne. "I'll go. Someone needs to stop them exploding anyway."

"Someone take the sides!" Dallas yells. "I'll keep my buddy Sequel safe."

"Yeah, thanks..."

And indeed, as Burn knew all too well, LOTS of sentinels were coming from the front; they seem to be gping for the ockcpit. At least one is crawling in through the broken windscreen.

It's an amazing sight, btw- the Power Plant out in front of you, though slightly mitigated by the harsh, biting wind sandblasting all of you. It's a miracle Sequel can fly at all.

I'll go for one of the sides, don't care hich one. if I find a squidie I'll zap it

"Ariadne, do you want me to go with you?" Ares asks. "Otherwise, I'll take starboard."

"I'm on it," Melis says, rushing to help Finn with the bypass.

"Hawk, you and I will go port," Mors says, proceeding to make his way down from the upper section by ladder to the main deck.

"I'll head over there to help, if I can ever kill this damn thing!" San says, firing at the squid and hoping that this kills it.

(San's got a good fix-it score, so may as well...assuming I can kill this ****ing sentinel...)

I too will also try and kill my attacker.

"When we get back to Zion, remind me to take that advanced gun combat course!" Cloud yells to no-one in particular.

"Dallas! What the f*ck are we gonna do?" Burn yells as the sentinals pour in, and he moves out towards the side.

"I've told you what to do! Go kill them!"

Hawk adjusts his grip on his gun and follows Mors' lead.

Ex-gun turret Shez guys- they are coming in that way as well! And indeed, this turn, the top of Mors' turret is scooped clan off, expsoing it to the howling wind. All the turrets are going the same way.

Seems most of the Shez's crew just met in the middle there... three sentinels for you to play with also.

Kills for Cloud and San!

Melis- there is the horrible, horrible... non-ship out here. it just runs out, as more and more bits slowly stream off from the doomed section. The fllor underneath you is uneven; there is no wall in front of you, just a gap where the side used to be, looking over the blasted earth and scorched sky.

And now, looking at towers full of humans, as the ships twist and turn between them.

Oh, also four sentinels.
