USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (PHILOSOPHY)- 'The Door'

"It is within the basic nature of sentient beings to fear death. What makes Hunter so unusual? Perhaps he wishes to end his existence?

Most Machines will not survive the death of imprisoned humans, right? Will Matrix exist at all without its purpose?"-Melkor takes effort to think and try to control his emotions, as Azrael advised him.

"The end of the Matrix may changer things for all. But that aside, death is something he has no fear of."

"I/can/not/die."

"Why? Is there nothing that can destroy you? What if Matrix ceased to exist?"

"I/do/not/know. may/be. I/hope."

"So this is your goal? But why? Do you find no value in your existence. Do you lack purpose?'" -Melkor seems curious now, reverting more to his usual self.

"I think there are basic laws of the Universe that state you cannot survive that," says Lo Qi.

"we/shall/see"

The Hunter turns to you Melkor.

"to/not/die/is/to/not/live. i/did/not/choose/this."

"Who made the choice then? Was it by accident?"

"it/was/not/meant/to/be"

"And so you don`t understand the reason of your existence? Cannot you find a reason on your own? You are not limited as we fragile humans are...

So who was responsible for it anyway?"

"no/one/was/res/pon/sib/le. it/was/not/a/poss/ib/ili/it/iy/acc/ount/ed/for. my/form/does/not/int/er/act/corr/ect/ly/with/the/Mat/rix. when/it/att/empts/to/del/ete/me/the/del/ete/func/tion/cra/shes/and/I/am/re/turned/to/the/mat/rix/re/start/ed."

"Does the fact that you cannot face deletion make it impossible for you to have any joy or satisfaction in your existence?"- Melkor suddenly tries to imagine how would it feel to not fear death.

"this/is/not/ex/ist/ence. put/down/your/phones."

"And what would you do with us then?" -Melkor hesitantly picks his phone.

Also, I think that if you can think and desire something, than you exist."

"You know Hunter you say you can not die but that is only because you haven't found the thing that will kill you. One day it will come and for the first time you will face your "deletion" finally. As I'm sure our scholar Lo Qi can attest to. All things eventually end no matter what all things eventually end."

Berserker says while puts down his phone.

"The question is when it comes how will you deal with it"

Heph glances at Azrael, then tosses down his phone.

"Well, that's that, then," Heph says, folding his arms again. "We know what the Doctor does, we know why the Hunter can't die, we know what's behind the Door. So what happens now?"

Klez drops his phone.

"How are you familiar with Hephaestus and Azrael?" Klez asks. "And while our original mission isn't remotely relevant at this moment...what were you meant to be?"

"i/am/meant/to/be/as/you/are. and/those/two/have/not/changed/since/we/last/met. at/the/fac/tor/y."

Heph struggles for words momentarily.

"You..." he finally stutters. "You're one of Melitus' copies?"

"twice/i/have/saved/you/re/cent/ly/heph/as/tus. last/time/it/was/one/of/my/crew/when/the/night/de/mon/was/to/con/sume/you. you/al/wys/think/things/will/go/well. you/will/not/give/up. my/crew/are/dead/now. but/i/re/main."

"...Jericho. You're Jericho!"
