USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (PHILOSOPHY)- 'The Door'

"Did you do something to Jericho?" -Melkor feels confused again. "Or you just stole his phone?"

(By the way, aren`t we supposed to be pretty much dying at this point, yet we are still having philosophical discussions?)

I'll tell you when you are dying, don't worry.

I don`t want you to have a wrong impression that I am waiting to die, or something, you know... 😱

"Can you really steal from a thief?" Azrael asks sarcastically.

"Well now Mors," says the Oracle. "It's been a little while. Quite a ride you've had, huh?"

A pause.

"I know," she says. "I wish I could tell you everyone else is doing better but they aren't in good shape either. Could you hand me over to Dallas, please?"

"They're still alive, then," Heph says, somewhat comforted.

"Well, some of them are still alive," Azrael says, his face grim.

"Hello Dallas. Yes. yes, any time I liked."

"Well, I don't think you would have been ready for that. After all, what I have is only useful for you now."

The Oracle starts to talk to Dallas about the location of a hardline relative to a military crew about to board an Osprey.

"They're coming back in?" Azrael asks.

"Oh, and Dallas... you made the right choice and she would have agreed. She would have wanted you to know that."

She hangs up and hands the phone over.

"Now... where were we?"

"We were talking about Jericho, and his oversight. And you said he might prefer it this way- one more confrontation?

By the way, we came to the conclusion that Sennacherib created the Virus. He may know how to stop it."

"Jericho loves a showdown. Some Agents are the same way.

"Well now, I'm glad you have been thinking about that. Gives you another problem if it is true though- Sennacherib isn't exactly the type who does favous.

"I suppose I'd best get going. Oh... Azrael, you don't look at all well. Feeling a bit miserable about things, I reckon."

Heph wonders briefly what the Oracle meant by what she said to Dallas, but does not dwell on it.

"Sennacherib might be more willing to help if he knows that the Virus won't be giving him any victories..."

Klez just stands quietly, looking thoroughly miserable and disgusted with himself.

"I don't see it as clearly as my friends - no, my colleagues - seem to. Are we just shooting ourselves in the foot so that we don't feel bad?"

"What makes you say that?"

"We're condemning ourselves to lose."

"You don't know that. But what you do know, if you think about it, is that the type of victory you are talking of is worthless. You don't want victory, you want a future. Victory cannot possibly get you that. But as I say, it doesn't mattter anyway. This plan is going to end with extinct humans, not extinct Machines."

Those last questions of yours do kinda imply you didn't read what the Oracle said before, Trick. 'Not feeling bad' isn't remotely what the Oracle has been talking about.

"I wonder why would the plan end with the extinction of humans. Would Machines still have enough power left to destroy Zion?"
