USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 FOURTH ASSIGNMENT (PHILOSOPHY)- 'The Door'

"Funny to fight for the preservation of Humanity by destroying most of it. I think Humanity itself might disagree with you. And if your only reason to do that ius because you are Human... well, I am not sure that is something you have thought through.

"What Sennacherib, who I might say is not really someone you should want to be like, actually fought for was simply victory, and that was part of the problem. He didn't give a damn about the Machines, only winning. What you have been fighting for is individual Humans. I don't think any of you have ever had cause to think about anything more grand than that. Now you have, and and now there's a problem."

"Well, we should fight to make the world a better place. World without Machines and most of humans wouldn`t be a better place, just the opposite- so much knowledge would be lost, and so much beauty. Humanity that remains would be forever tainted by such genocide."

(By the way, my previous post was Melkor explaining how he understands Klez`s position, not his own opinion.)

"Well, that's a way of thinking I'm not going to stand in the way of," says the Oracle. She lights a new cigarette. "I'm not going to condemn anyone, but there is an issue here. See, the problem with Sennacherib isn't just that that he cared about nothing or no-one other than victory. Oh for sure, that's a problem, because where it leads to is a place where the'd kill anyone and everything without hesitation, leaving only himself, if that is what he thought was needed. The person who would cut you down from behind without a second thought. That''s what was made when Sennacherib was made.

"But there was a problem beyond that, beyond him wanting to sacrifice most of his own race just to destroy Humanity. the problem was... he assumed victory would bring him what he wanted. He can see a lot of things, can the King. But he cannot see beyond victory.

"You think that doing this would bring a new era for Humanity? Well it might, but not in the way you mean. You see, if you destroy the Matrix, and then destroy the Machines, all you get for your trouble is a lot of dead humans, a lot of dead Machines... and a dead planet. And that last one is what ruins your dream. And it wasn't Machines that did this, you see. The Earth an no longer sustain Human life, certainly nothing approaching Human civilisation.

"And didn't it occur to you... that in fact one Human already made the choice you wanted to make. Didn't exactly bring him what he wanted, did it?"

"Jericho right? Though I don`t think that cloning was such a bad idea, he almost made himself and his crew immortal."

"Long before Jericho."

"The person who torched the sky right."

"Got it in one, Berserker. Now, no matter which way you look at it, Humanity was never going to come out of things too well without the Sun. He was killing vast amounts of his own kind, but he justified it too. Anything was worth victory." She smiles.

(In a car)

Crenzar gets out of his car dialing a few numbers into his phone. "Where are they.........really?..........how many.........I see......then set up a trap..........I think we can take care of them..................wait for all them let them go inside and then that's when we strike............." Crenzar hangs up the phone and parks the car. Crenzar opens the door and says. "They won't know what hit them."

"It's kind if said how far people will go for victory huh," Berserker tells the Oracle.

Klez stands dumbfounded by the Oracle's flawless reasoning, to the point where he has no real way to defend his position.

"Now, Lo Qi's a smart cookie. He's caught on to the most important point of all. If this world is ever going to get back to normal, it has to be Man and Machine. They both screwed it up, they can both fix it."

She relaxes back in her seat.

"Of course, Lo Qi sees it like a race, a never-ending cosmic race to an unknown finish line. Well, you can agree with that or not. And I don't want to cast down anyone's beliefs just because they believe them, though I might say," she says, with another faint smile, "how convenient it is that Lo Qi has ended up so passionately believing in a God that justifies his own existence and everything he wants to do. Wish we all had it that easy.

"Poor Lo Qi though. He's a great thinker, but he's always been a 'big picture' man. It's how he was designed. Sometimes he misses out on the little details, even when answers were right next to him. Such a shame that his plan is only going to destroy Humanity, and he won't even live to realise his mistake.

"Oh, but you don't want to listen to me going on and on for the rest of your lives. I'm sorry, I just get like this. Would one of you please do me a favour and lend me your phone?"

"What do you mean that his plan will only destroy humanity?"

"I'm sure you'll work it out."

Berserker will hand the Oracle his cell phone. "Here ya go mam."

Someone knocks on the door. "Hello there may I come in?"

Andy was here. EDIT

(We don't have our phones.)

"They've been confiscated," Klez says. "Jericho has them."

(Crenzar, please don't post in here.)

Yup, sorry, Crenzar, thakes a lot of prep to be in this game.

"Oh," says the Oracle. "Yes. How forgetful of me." She reaches inside her coat and produces Berserker's phone. "Jericho is still like he used to be. Couldn't resist coming here to gloat at you, could he? Not keeping an eye on things."

She lays out everyone else's phones as well.

"Although knowing Jericho, he might prefer it this way."

She dials a number into Berkserk's phone.

Heph grins slightly and takes his phone.

"Nice work."

Sirin will take her phone.

"Who are you calling?"
