I wouldn't say that gay culture is only influenced by their sexuality, it was simply the basis for it's creation.

I have an article on my PC called "" by Richard D.Mohr if anyone is actually interested in reading up on it. It is an article about the stereotypes he finds contradictory and talks about the way different laws affect gay people and the movement they are putting underway. i would disagree with this as well

imho modern gay culture is more of a reaction to the common negative experiences that gays go through in society. It has to do with in-group support networks, but their culture, as far as I am concerned, exists almost specifically because it is not accepted as part of the mainstream society.
