darthgoober's Amalgam Tournament Second Round Draft Thread

Started by long pig17 pages

Oh, answer me this.

What is the strongest person you can have?

Basically, anyone that's around IM level. Pre-Extremis. 2nd, it's based on total power, not just 'can they beat IM?' . So someone like Abom got in, because his strength was his only really good power, and because unlike Hulk, his HF and strength aren't dynamic. Hell, they let Vision in, and kicked Selene. So use your own judgement.

I still think characters who are primarily not from comics shouldn't be allowed.

Making 10 mini comics just seems like it was done to promote merchandising.

Also forum rules say the character must be primarily from comics.

Ben 10?I doub it.Mini-comics shouldn't really count IMO...

Tonight or tomorrow should be more than enough time for this round of the drafts to be done ... people have had weeks to think about it and 3 days to PM in a single name.

😬

Selene wasn't kicked.

Don't worry, she will be. 😉

Well if it hasn't happened already it should be considered. Her powerset is over the caps. And her durability exceeds the durability cap.

can those who have not drafted yet PLEASE do so? and if you still need to redraft from the FIRST rd, can that please be done as well.

goob, maybe instituting a time limit would be in order. you've given everyone AMPLE notice regarding this event and everyone has had weeks to plan an amalgam. perhaps set a day whereby if picks are NOT made picks are lost?

seriously, 2 weeks for drafts is very unnecessary only because goob gave so much time before the drafting even began. 😬

(i know lp is new, so perhaps an extension to him only on drafting time?)

Who says Selene's the durability character? And how's her powerset over caps? And how's her intangibility any more defensive then Vision's?

Forget it. Since we can deduce by your arguements that you drafted her, I'll tell you why. Not only is she a high level mage, she's also almost unstoppable to the likes of IM. Life drain, shadow form, telepathy, immortality, pyrokinesis, and sorcery so powerful, she was considered an enemy of Kulan Gath. A sorcerer who is around the same level as Dr. Strange.

Hell, Wiki says: * She also once survived and recovered completely from complete molecular discorporation, though it took considerable time to reconstitute herself.

**** this shit, the ***** is getting banned. Goober already told me he was gonna kick her if anything came out, and he was just looking for opinions. Those latest scans should doom her.

Can you provide a scan of her using high level magic? No? Know why? Such a scan doesn't exist, her high level magic is done off panel. On panel she could barely erase casual unenforced mind control from Kulan Gath.

she's also almost unstoppable to the likes of IM.

😂

Life drain

Banned move.

shadow form,

Which lets *not going to down talk my character by bringing the person up* one shot her and is so much less stoppable then Intangibility 🙄

telepathy,

Under Jean level, irrelevant.

immortality

Irrelevant.

Pyrokinesis,

I agree, ban the Human Torch

and sorcery so powerful, she was considered an enemy of Kulan Gath.

Her sorcery has never been shown to be this powerful, and I can think of one time where she even uses it (which was low level stuff).

Hell, Wiki says:

So you don't read her comics. That explains it.

I think Goober should kick you.

How is immortality not relevant 😕

KO or BFR are still options. Unlimited lifespan also does not always come with a godlike HF.

Because killing someone isn't the only way to win.

BFR is out and I that what I was thinking that maybe they had something akin to Deadpool where they had a healing factor with it.

But wait does this immortality mean she can't be hurt physically. Like is her skin unbreakable or something.

No, it just means that she won't die if she continues to feed on life forces (which is irrelevant to this tourney as death touches are banned). She can still be hurt and knocked out and I wouldn't put her healing factor that far ahead of Blade's based on what I've seen (as far as how fast she heals at least).

No, it just means that she won't die unless a special stipulation (that most the posters in the tourney that know about her and aren't complaining ie everyone but Trickster know about) is met. She still gets hurt, can still be knocked the **** out, and can still be vaporized.
I see ok then but if she is vaporized does she immediately reform?

No.
