He didn't absorb all of it's power though. 😬

While it's a bit unclear by Ego's statement whether or not he's actually weakened by Galactus's device, it IS demonstrated when compared to Ego's feats before he acquired the device. Take a look at Galactus's first battle with Ego...

Let's face it the power of a thousand Suns far exceeds the power of a single Sun, so I think Ego being afraid of that Sun is a pretty clear indication that he's FAR less powerful than he was before he had to fight against the influence of Galactus's device. What's more, even though Big G won the first battle between the two, he actually retreated from the second because their power was so evenly matched that he was afraid that both of them would be destroyed if it had continued...
