Starcraft 2

I've only played twice.

Once as a practice match and another as placement match. I destroyed the first match person and destroyed the second match person.

And I'm not even good so I might be playing this game alot more online then I did with the original. That shit was scary.

The second guy almost as much resources as I did and I couldn't figure out why he only had 4 zeolots and I had 20 or more marines and mauraders, then I realized it was because he tried to expand to three different bases at the same time in the first 10 minutes.

Hahaha. He thought he was playing zerg.

Watched a review for this game and they were saying since the game is so easy best to play it on hard.

He did do random. You never know.

I still find it strange. Anywhoo, if there is players like this around I might start playing SC2 online. The original game, I tried and I got destroyed everytime so I stopped bothering.

How does anyone beat Terrans? I am in the top 20 in my Gold devision and I cannot beat them. The only time I get close is when I harass with muta's and he gives up (despite having more than enough forces to beat me). Other than that, I get steamrolled by Thors, siege tanks and marines which btw seem devastating. The best I can think of doing is just trying to outproduce him.

If they go mech your only real hope is brood lords. Zerg vs Terran is very imbalanced, especially late game. You might also have luck with ultralisks.

hm I see. I have realised that late game Terran are almost unstoppable, because you just cannot get inside their shell, I have tried using Nydas worms, Overlord drops etc but a good Terran player has either a supply depot or missle turret (both cheap, the former necessery regardless of opponents build) around the outside of their base so you cant surprise them.

Marine spam is also hard to stop, sure they die quick to banelings and roaches but their really cheap, quick to build (especially with reactor) and stimpacks make them just as devastating as a group of siege tanks...

But yeh, enough of the ranting. I guess I had better try and psyche them out and trick them into building more of a certain type of unit. E.g. a few mutualisks, a few banelings etc.

And I see broodlords being a good counter but you can probably understand them getting hard to get, a load of Thors and such seem to be far easier to get (takes less time as well) than broodlords which are hardcountered by vikings anyway. I recall the better tactics i have had involve a mass of roaches burrowed beneath them, since now and then a Terran player forgets to scan or bring along a Raven.

But anyway, Rank 16 on Gold now, I pushed back a few wins to counter the losses I have had from damn Terrans.

Are you Plat or Diamond rank now btw? what rank precisely? you certainly seem experianced 😄

I'm Plat, ranked 8 in my division.

Currently gold, ranked 5th in my division. Trying to fight my way into Diamond. The biggest problems I have now are terran bioballs with mech, but I can counter it with enough micro and a large enough macro advantage. (takes about 4 hatcheries for me to even think about countering it, a lot of harrassment and atleast one surprise baneling buttsecksing.) I can fight protoss on even ground for the most part. (harrassment helps), and Zerg v.s. Zerg is a lulzfest.

Anyone here in North America wanna friend me? o: Regional lockouts and all.

Edit: BT, from what the forums say, Zerg are currently UP, and Terrans possibly a bit OP. (Protoss players think Terrans are OP, Zerg is fine, which seems possible, except Zerg have no tier 1 AA which means our tier one units often go neglected for fear of an air rush.) Terran players think everythign is fine except for Protoss proxying, lulz.

But yeah, Terran Bioballs are near unstoppable for Zerg. You practicly NEED banelings infestors and mutas all with perfect timing and micro.

The biggest problem I've run into as a Terran player is keeping Muta raids from raping my workers at expos and the like. Trying to wrestle map control from a Zerg player is like trying to take a chocolate pie from a fat kid during lunch.

haermm We're a determined bunch of ****s, of that you can be certain, sir.

Conversely, our expansions are easy to PK if you find them early, and get a MMM bioball going, bring tanks and we can't really stop it.

Yeahhh... I got nuthin, lol. I suck ass as Zerg.

I do get the sense that their limited though. The fact that like half of their strategies for anything is "make banelings" while the other half is "tech to broodlords", doesn't really speak well for their versatility. The fact that both of those units have ridiculously hard counters, also doesn't speak well.

Yeah, there are some strategies we literally have no answer for, and we just have to play really hard to fight them. (IE, sending waves and harrassing and out microing, and out macroing >_>😉

Banelings are hard to make work, too, and against anythign that's not light or a building only do I think 10 damage. x_X for a suicide bomber that hurts.

I think ill wait until Blizzard sorts Terran out or some Zerg finds out an easier tactic, I just had several losses against this exact Terran tactic and felt like I had nothing I could do. I beat protoss with ease and I can have a good game with another Zerg player but Terran just sit in their base, build up monstrous forces and steamroll 🙁

I've been trying to learn Zerg a bit lately. I feel bad for them, they're obviously so much weaker than the other races right now. I have a lot of respect for Zerg players at the moment.

That's what I've been hearing all my life, I love bein' a Zerg player. Haven't had a lot of time to play SC 2, because I only play it at a friend's house, and it's pretty challenging playing as Zerg. Not impossible, far from it, but just abit difficult for me, though I love it.

I agree its enjoyable. But its just not as full of variety and flexability as some may try and tell you. Sure htey can quite quickly change their build order but by the time they have built necessery buildings for the units they need to tech up for the opponent "should" have far more forces. I usually work a lot harder to beat an opponent than they do defending (the only good cirumstance when playing Zerg, obviously if your stuck defending then your through).

Yeah, it's rough. x_x I suggest a lot of mutalisks, for harrassment, a few infestors to weaken him, zerglings to pad him whiel you reinforce your army after the heavy losses from the first engagemtn. (always engage before he hits your base.) and baneling mines. I am almost top of gold league, about to hit platinum and while Terran is a TERRIBLE matchup for me, I can still, if I work twice as hard as they do, pull a win. You do basicly need two more bases than they do, though.

I appreciate your acknowledgement and respect, sir. 😛 We are a bit UP, but I hope a patch will fix it, and until then, it just means then when we /are/ finally balanced, I'll be so used to being under-powered that I'll steam roll. 😎

Ok the last few times a Terran tried to do this I took an early expansion, stopped making Zerglings and started making a ton of Roaches. He build up a ton of thors but my Roaches outnumbered him and once I had about 20, I simply kept him in his base, disallowed any expansions (starve him of gas) and made Mutualisks.

This tactic seemed to work.

"sigh" being 5th in my Gold division is getting boring lol, I cant go up because every time a win a game or two, I take a loss and when I take a loss and go down to 8th rank or so, I win and go back to 5th....

How does one get to platinum? I have seen the Rank 1 of my Gold division at the top for what seems like a week or two.
