Superman becomes part of the JLA who are equipped with some other powerful characters. For example...WW who can erase beings from existence. Batman, the undead knight cursed by Merlin. Atom, who can play with molecular density in himself as well as other beings, and Green Lantern, who can bring the dead to life to fulfill their desires.
Even then...he sees this as a way to relieve boredom.

Let’s talk about the story itself. From what’s out there, it seems the series will revolve around the Tangent Superman coming over to the DCU proper and trying to make it a better place. Is that what’s going on?[Laughs] This is where I always have a hard time because it’s a question of how much we want to give away. Here’s the set up: just that it’s been ten years since we last saw the Tangent Universe in our reality as readers and creators, it has been ten years in the Tangent Universe. When we last saw the Tangent Universe back then, we were setting up the possibility of the Tangent Superman to be far and away the most powerful character that world knew. So, picking this up ten years later, that is essentially what he’s become. Because of that, he has stepped in and said, “If I’m a person of the level of capability and this level of intellect, I know what’s best and I’ll start making decisions about what’s best for the sake of this Earth.” If one follows that line of logic, then when he begins to discover there are other universes and other Earths out there, if he knows what’s best for his own why wouldn’t he not know what’s best for the others as well?
But punching is also good. What are some of the fights we can look forward to?
One of the things we introduced, if you look back at the second wave of Tangent books, there was Power Girl who was also set up as being a very powerful character. She’s back in all her glory and very much affiliated with Superman. So, together it is that union they have formed that is incredibly tough to beat. And I think that sets us up for a lot of interesting and fun battles.So, wait, is there a possibility of seeing a Superman and Power Girl versus Superman and Power Girl?
What? Who? Me? [Laughs] Is there a possibility? Yes, certainly there’s a possibility.
Awesome stuff. Sounds like we'll really be able to judge SuperMAN's level of power soon. If he's far and away the most powerful "hero" that world knows (Earth 9) then that's saying quite a bit considering they have a Wonder Woman who can erase people from existence. 🙂
