Also I'm not sure if this has come up but I would like to make a brief analysis of TANGENT and their Superman.
The most basic aspect of TANGENT is that it's technologically progressive but socially regressive. Both are meant to miss the 1990s by a great margin. How socially regressive are we talking? Jurgens himself noted that in the scripting for TANGENT they hadn't reached many of the social upheavals of the 1960s. So if society is about thirty years behind we can assume in 1973 they might still have been in something like the great depression.
Why is that important? Well there happens to be a famous, bald, telepathic, world conquering, depression era, DC superhero, that gained his powers from experimentation by a less than ethical scientist. That would be the original Superman from Reign of the Super-Man. Want more proof, in TANGET Superman Millar notes that pictures show Prof Chill was an old man in 1933 (the era of our great depression).
Anyway that's just my little, uh, tangent.
Amazon has the trades for sale. They even have the Superman's Reign already listed for 2009. I'll be buying that asap.

That's probably what's going to happen, I don't see Tangent killing Supes. But I like how he's like Superman taken to the next level. No longer is he just stopping bad guys he's actually something of a god, bringing a measure of peace and prosperity to all humans.
Harvey is the bad guy and lead character but if you take what super heroes like Supes do to the next logical step, you know they should have a stronger hand in world politics.
Tangent Supes is cool because his character is compelling, you want him to win more than most "villains" because he's decided to stop the bs there's a downside to his dictatorship but there was also a down side to free governments before he took over Earth 9. The lesser evil and all that.
