rats are great carriers (hosts, conduits) and they breed fast and a bunch of other reasons that is related to our body/system.

Id do that for two main reasons:
Number one: I trust my damn self more than anyone else.
Number two: I hate when people decide to declare themselves boss and start ordering people around. And that would be inevitable in that situation; warlordism and everyone becoming cut-throat would be rampant. So I'd avoid that altogether by taking my chances on my own.
