My motives for this thread (only if you can read):

this was suppose to be a thought exercise.
i can care less if you mock the whole idea, it was a gift to help us think in certain terms, if you want to take it as a form of mockery or someone is stupid or whatever, then go ahead, free country....but the intent was to allow us to think in terms of playing "god" and yet, projecting different "problems" and seeing if we can EMPATHIZE, as this is what we expect from our very leaders.

Anyway, for those who would do the extreme, this one is for you:

Good idea. I'd like to amend and improve that proposal with mandated euthanasia for everyone between 15 and 18. A Children of Men sorta thing, but in a good way.

THis doesnt sound like playing god it seems more like playing governor of nowhere. This is also a much more generic question than overpopulation alone, because in nature disease and everything IS the overpopulation control, sadly.

As leader I would focus on getting off that island. You could have a population law, but if no one followed it (which they wouldnt), you would still end up with more children...etc...

Another solution would be to just provide no medical care to adults over 50 or 60 or something, at the natural death age, maybe, so they can still live hypothetically for a long time they just cant get medical care.

Theres really no humane way to control population, except which has been mentioned first about population laws, but on a tropical honeymoon island people would find it hard to follow that, unless they killed the kids...which would be even worse.

Land is an issue too.
