Honestly, chill.Just relax, because I am going to share with YOU the best technique to combat ANY medium that you're unhappy with. I've tried sharing this with someone else, but they prefer to ignore it so I'm passing it on to you. Ready? Ok...
Think of all the writers that are frustrating you, all the titles...and...stop reading them. I can already hear you screaming "MADNESS! MA...THIS IS CRAZY!", but just swirl this revolutionary idea around the ol' noggin for a bit.
X-Men started to re-e-eeeally bother me back in the day, with Claremont. You know what I did? Stopped reading them and moved on.
Now, I know there are people here who'd tell ya that the best way to deal with this is harbour a massive grudge, continue paying attention to the character and writers who supposedly ruined it, so as to give you continual reason to whine about it online. I know that may sound, gosh, as tempting as a pie on a windowsill.
You've just gotta fight the urges to read stuff you apparently dislike, and chill.
That's just me though. I've always been a super radical thinker, a real outlaw, so my ideas don't generally get picked up. I have to say, though, I do think there's somethin' in this "Stop paying attention to shit you dislike." theory I've got.
As for the Vs Forum malarkey; so what? Who gives a crap what a bunch of armchair-fans who mostly download their comics think about who'd win in a fight? That forum is generally way more over-thought and frought with idiocy than a Republican National Convention.
We all know that based on consistency, Thor would crush almost anyone. If people are so desperate to credit losses to the man that they'd judge based on shit and character-inconsistent patches, then why even listen to them? The whole theory is "It's canon, so they can use it.". So what? Example: Italy won the World Cup, fact. Argentina were a better team throughout that tournament, fact. Italy just happened to get the results, fact. Conclusion to be drawn: anyone continually suggesting Italy were the better team just because of the end result is a moron, fact.
If you look at consistency, you can say without doubt that there were at least three better teams.
That's what I mean about the Vs Forum. People spend so much time in their proving who would possibly win a fight, that they honestly start having delusions of intelligence and grandeur. They're not unlike sports fans who sit at home and act like they could do better than the guy who is actually employed as a manager. Not saying some couldn't, but by and large, it's not true.
It's not as big a deal as you're making it. Also, if you wanna look at any of these characters who have had upward of 300 issues; they've all had massively inconsistent patches. Are we to judge Thanos or Dr. Doom accordingly just because they lost to Squirrel Girl? No, because that was clearly a stupid decision. It was canon, it counts, it happened. Denying that is stupid, the writer has the final say in what goes down and that's that. However, it clearly wasn't consistent.
I mean, sure, it sucks that certain writers take characters you love and do things you disagree with, but eh. Stop supporting them and eventually Marvel learn. Why do you think Greg Pak has been given Hulk, and Hulk's run with him has been established as the main one? Marvel aren't idiots. You don't get a corporation and successful business by being a moron.
Do they exploit the desires of morons? Yes, sometimes. Sometimes to the chagrin of their fans who aren't morons. They can possibly cater to them a little too much, but they're not ideas and they've redeemed themselves before.
If they don't, then don't support them.
I just don't understand the need for such massive fanfare and anger surrounding everyone's desire to "ditch" Marvel. Just stop reading them, why has everyone got to announce it with fervour?
Just chill.
