Honestly you don't have to do that. Sometimes its just ok to let people express their opinion....you don't have to tell people what to do. 😐

Calm down.

How do you surmise that I'm not calm? I'm perfectly calm. It's reactions like yours that suggest agitation.

I'm not telling anyone what to do or think, and if you got that from my posts, you haven't been reading them.

I was posting MY opinion, MY suggestions. You know, that which you said it's ok to do.

I am allowed an opinion on other opinions. That's how this lovely "Everyone has an opinion, and the right to one!" system works.

If you dislike that, I believe you know what the solution is.

Predictable. durlaugh

But I'm a magnanimous person and will allow you the last word since it appears to be so precious to you. Enjoy. 😊

You don't have to be agitated mate. Its just interesting that you had to write an essay and 'call people out' when they complain about comic companies.

It won't, but it'll stop people from defending them when I call them out on it, hopefully.

I foresee it having the opposite effect.

No, I meant that posts like YOURS suggest YOU are agitated. I'm fine.

Also, It's not an essay, is it? It's a post. Don't act like reading is a chore, unless it is, in which case...we cannot be seen talking.

Honestly, chill.

Just relax, because I am going to share with YOU the best technique to combat ANY medium that you're unhappy with. I've tried sharing this with someone else, but they prefer to ignore it so I'm passing it on to you. Ready? Ok...

Think of all the writers that are frustrating you, all the titles...and...stop reading them. I can already hear you screaming "MADNESS! MA...THIS IS CRAZY!", but just swirl this revolutionary idea around the ol' noggin for a bit.

X-Men started to re-e-eeeally bother me back in the day, with Claremont. You know what I did? Stopped reading them and moved on.

Now, I know there are people here who'd tell ya that the best way to deal with this is harbour a massive grudge, continue paying attention to the character and writers who supposedly ruined it, so as to give you continual reason to whine about it online. I know that may sound, gosh, as tempting as a pie on a windowsill.

You've just gotta fight the urges to read stuff you apparently dislike, and chill.

That's just me though. I've always been a super radical thinker, a real outlaw, so my ideas don't generally get picked up. I have to say, though, I do think there's somethin' in this "Stop paying attention to shit you dislike." theory I've got.

As for the Vs Forum malarkey; so what? Who gives a crap what a bunch of armchair-fans who mostly download their comics think about who'd win in a fight? That forum is generally way more over-thought and frought with idiocy than a Republican National Convention.

We all know that based on consistency, Thor would crush almost anyone. If people are so desperate to credit losses to the man that they'd judge based on shit and character-inconsistent patches, then why even listen to them? The whole theory is "It's canon, so they can use it.". So what? Example: Italy won the World Cup, fact. Argentina were a better team throughout that tournament, fact. Italy just happened to get the results, fact. Conclusion to be drawn: anyone continually suggesting Italy were the better team just because of the end result is a moron, fact.

If you look at consistency, you can say without doubt that there were at least three better teams.

That's what I mean about the Vs Forum. People spend so much time in their proving who would possibly win a fight, that they honestly start having delusions of intelligence and grandeur. They're not unlike sports fans who sit at home and act like they could do better than the guy who is actually employed as a manager. Not saying some couldn't, but by and large, it's not true.

It's not as big a deal as you're making it. Also, if you wanna look at any of these characters who have had upward of 300 issues; they've all had massively inconsistent patches. Are we to judge Thanos or Dr. Doom accordingly just because they lost to Squirrel Girl? No, because that was clearly a stupid decision. It was canon, it counts, it happened. Denying that is stupid, the writer has the final say in what goes down and that's that. However, it clearly wasn't consistent.

I mean, sure, it sucks that certain writers take characters you love and do things you disagree with, but eh. Stop supporting them and eventually Marvel learn. Why do you think Greg Pak has been given Hulk, and Hulk's run with him has been established as the main one? Marvel aren't idiots. You don't get a corporation and successful business by being a moron.

Do they exploit the desires of morons? Yes, sometimes. Sometimes to the chagrin of their fans who aren't morons. They can possibly cater to them a little too much, but they're not ideas and they've redeemed themselves before.

If they don't, then don't support them.

I just don't understand the need for such massive fanfare and anger surrounding everyone's desire to "ditch" Marvel. Just stop reading them, why has everyone got to announce it with fervour?

Just chill.

Really good apart from the "Just Chill" bit. I don't know why, but the tone felt like my Grandparents trying to talk like they're from the Ghetto. (They're very middle class by the way).

I could see it. I... just hate that post. I don't really hate AC, but that post is terrible. It offends me. And not even because of it's actual content. I just hate soapbox speeches so bad. I get the nails on the chalkboard feeling just seeing a glimpse of someone quoting it when scroll down the page.

Yeah I kinda got that feeling to but it was more of a πŸ™„ feeling.

So Thor #603 comes out this week.............lets hope it does.

Yeah, but you also got a million and one things out of the post that weren't there.

Alvis hates rants, fair play to the man. I can understand that.

You decided to use my post to list the things you dislike about me, as a poster, that aren't even true. Next time, make a valid criticism. If you're gonna discuss, discuss my argument about Thor.

Hmm I dont think I remember listing anything actually. I don't like certain types of rants either. Im also not going to speak for Alvis but I think I got the gist of what he thought about the post. Ok let me see.....nope, nope think i'll carry on doing the samething (if I feel like it).

"The guy just can't help telling people what to do and think.... erm

Honestly you don't have to do that. Sometimes its just ok to let people express their opinion....you don't have to tell people what to do.".

^ You said that. All of it is entirely untrue, as I then proved to you. Then you weaselled out of it rather than admitting you were wrong.

Accept that if you talk utter nonsense, you will get treated like someone who talks like utter nonsense.

Alvis didn't even say he disagreed with what I was saying about Thor or comics, neither did the guy before him. Quite the opposite in fact. Alvis just hates rants, it seems.

You started saying things about me that are factually untrue, that you implied were derived from my post.

So I'll say it again; if you're not going to post about the topic, or reply to me about the topic, don't say anything. If you DO choose to irrelevantly and incorrectly reply ABOUT me, then at least make it correct. No need to start throwing around false accusations.

Do you have anything you wish to contribute about Thor, or do you want to discuss me further? My PM box is open if you want to talk about me.

-AC

AC, you talk way too much.......just STFU for once.

On topic, is Thor 603 out yet?

I'm sorry, you appear to have mistaken me for someone who listens to what you have to say.

All questions solved by reading posts.

This week. Wednesday, if that's the case, for Americans.

I could elaborate (that would be a waste of time) but this thread is getting derailed.

Marvel is really irritating as of late. Why can't they just let Thor go all out and smash some heads? I'll give DC that, they know how to handle top tier characters. Let Thor ape shit ala Black Adam.

True but it wasnt too good and so is Thor Annual.

Thor 603 was a lot better than 603 in my opinion.

Doom's going to betray Loki though, right around the time Loki betrays him. πŸ˜„
