The second scan shows why the recent Thor-Hulk fight was B.S. We see Hulk cannot move Thor's arm when he's holding the hammer, no matter how hard he tries. So that he could then grab Thor's arm and whack him with mjolnir while Thor holds it, is nonsense.
I was not aware of this scan from the olden days, but in response to that recent T/H fight, I posted in another thread that this is exactly what should happen. And I'm much more of a Hulk than Thor fan.
I knew Stan 'n' Jack had it right.
Originally posted by Starscream MYeah, seems that way...but...I dunno. There was a time, not too long ago, when I found Thor fans among the most reasonable. Possibly now there's some 'dissonance' / disappointment regarding Thor since his re-appearance, maybe because it seemed to hold such promise.
my point is that KMC thor fans have already made up their mind...that thor is far superior to hulk and should not lose.so even let's say hulk does beat thor in a canon comic...they're not gonna accept it.
they'll either say the writer is ignorant, that it was PIS, or that marvel is run by retards.
guys...just a question...
are there any showings from current Thor, not dreams, memories, different timelines, that make u think Thor is weaker?
His current showings, limited to those in Siege and his current series have only shown him loosing to Void. So please let's don't get so frustrating with all those "offline" references. If CURRENT Thor and Hulk meet let's talk about that again. Till then let us just realize what stories currently THor is in and talk about them
Originally posted by roughriderHulk cannot remove Mjolnir from Thor's grip per that fight. But that isn't what he did in Hulk: Let the Battle Begin.

Originally posted by Starscream MI do agree Hulk is stronger than Thor with the proper motivation. Hulk's always been the strongest there is among his crowd it's his entire gimmick. Thor showings from the seventies all still count and just because he has some new showings where he doesn't fare as well you want me to disregard it just because he's not looking great in the moment. We have to look at his entire body of work not some embarrassing showings against the Hulk which aren't as bad as some are making it out to be.
the extent of excuses by thor fans is becoming ridiculousso far we've heard
- its not canon
- its a dream
- it didn't happen
- it was PIS
- the author is an idiot
- marvel is retardedit's like kmc thor fans can't accept that
1) thor today is not thor 30 or 40 years ago (hence feats from those era don't really apply to today's thor)
2) marvel intends that hulk can beat thor more often than not. you may not like it, you may scream PIS or whine about other things, but that IS marvel's intent.
3) thor DOES not fight as thor fans wish he would. he simply doesn't.
end rant/
Marvel doesn't intend for Thor to be Hulk's inferior either. One writer basically gave him the edge and even admitted he hadn't lost yet.
This debate is like the 'Who's Faster' debate between Flash & Superman - people take it as meaning whomever is faster would win in a fight. Even though I say Flash is faster, doesn't mean I think he wins over Superman. But Flash has to have his thing - The Fastest Man Alive - just as Hulk has to have his hype of being The Strongest There Is. Doesn't mean Hulk should be picked in a fight over Thor, with his greater versatility.

i agree with this entire statement! (except i do believe flash does stand quite a good chance against superman)
(although on a side note i don't believe hulk should ever be able to lift the Mjolnir....not because of strength because as we all know thats not why the hammer is so "heavy"....i just believe hulks honestly not worthy of picking it up)
Just to add to the discussion, as some of you may remember, I was a regular poster a few years back. Huge Thor fan. I've since fallen off the wagon in terms of my interest in comics, primarily due to the lack interesting stories.
With that said, I can hardly stomach Thor any longer. To me, he doesn't feel like Thor, and that's what I've grown to hate about Marvel. It seems they haven't the slightest clue on what to do with their higher tier characters.
For example, my favorite DC character is Black Adam. In my opinion, he's written as a higher tier character should be. During WW3, with the proper motivation, he was able to tear through DC earth. I enjoyed the story with sadistic satisfaction. Great overall showing in terms of speed, strength, and overall fighting ability.
Where's that with Thor? We've seen nothing of substance from the "god" since Ragnarok. These days most of his time is spent talking, or jobbing out to some lower tier character. No longer do we see the amazing feats, no longer is he relevant in the Marvel Universe, and no longer is he the front man he once was.
There was a time, when I would have argued that he was Marvel's counterpart to Superman. The one hero you call when the day needs saving. The hero who was the living embodiment of power. Now he's nothing more than a joke.
Meh, I can't wait for Thanos to return. 😬

Bit of an extreme point of view. If you're talking about Thor vs. Rulk & Sentry, well everyone is falling prey to the PIS and the unknown levels Marvel keeps pushing those characters to.
Marvel is spending $150 million on the Thor movie coming next year. Hardly a sign they are treating him as a joke.

Perhaps, but I believe it to be valid. Marvel simply does nothing worth mention with their higher tier characters. I'd like to be "wowed" from time to time, and that's something as of late Marvel hasn't offered.
The Thor movie will be great, I'm sure; And though they've recently done well, comics, not movies are why I fell in love with Marvel. Plus, the movie won't be cannon. :/
