How do they explain him being in heaven?

Oh yeah. Perfect example. He's been seen in Heaven more than once.

The writers just don't know then I guess.

Because Heaven is an individual experience and not purely a place where all the souls meet, though they can intersect at times. Hal learns that around the time he met Barry there. It's easily explainable that he met Barry there, simply because it was part of his souls path, that he needed, or wanted to. Spectre volume 4 was very ambitious with it's ideals.

😆

When this comic comes out, Mongul will be the wind beneath my wings.

Anyone else reckon Geoff John's has been, since the latest Hal Jordan title started, building up to reveal Hal's dad as one of the black Lanterns in Blackest night???? It was never fully resolved what Hal's dad's last words were which was a recurring issue for Hal throughout the Sinestro war storyline.....

I've figured this was going to be the case since blackest night was announced.

Also, I doubt Barry Allen will be a black lantern considering he will most liklely be being brought back in the upcoming Legion War (Johns has been planning this since the lightning saga)

That's just Geoff getting the hopes and dreams of Barry Allen fanboys up just so he can crush them again.

The bitter tears of Silver Age zealots when Bart shows up again will taste so sweet.

Barry > Bart.

👆
but that doesn't mean Bart's not the one returning.......

Notice who is strangely absent from that cover?

....

🙁.

I think he's off fighting the "mother mercy"

"It’s the action-packed conclusion of “Ring Quest”! Kyle, Guy, Sodam Yat, Arisia, Soranik and other members of the Green Lantern Corps wage an all-out battle against Mongul and the mysterious Mother Mercy."

I didn't thought I'd enjoy this Secret Origins arc as much as I do to be honest. These 2 issues have been great and with some pretty interesting revelations.

Same here. I thought it was gonna be one of those usual origins in which they tell that which we already know. The added stuff makes it so worth it.

Agree with both of you. I figured it was just going to be a filler arc until Rage of the Red Lanterns kicked off.

I never knew anything about Jordan's origin story other than he was a pilot and a dying GL gave him his ring. Good stuff.

I don't know. I feel like I've read Hal origin half a dozen times in the last year. The new details about what Sur was doing were nice though (it used to sort of puzzle me that he was in a ship considering the first power everyone learns is flight)

A lot of that wasn't new, the whole reason why he used a ship was explained years ago.
