He has never been in position to beat DS. Look at it this way, Superman's mighties blows have no effect on the star conquerer. Orion shoots one blast and severly hurts the SC. Orion>Superman. Whether it was an avatar is up for debate. But DS has already stated that any loss is an avatar or Desaad pretending. And that He cannot be defeated physically. Anyway, DS powered up Doomsday with the OB. so i'm not surpised Doomsday sucker punched DS. After all, DS had won the fight and Doomsday sucker punched him from the back.

What about that instance where Spiderman used his webbing to trap Thanos for 7 or 8 panels. Thanos sure had a hard time breaking those webs.
