Wrong for two reasons.
1. Thats not an example where no energy projection is used by Thanos. He used energy projection all throughout that fight.
2. Thanos didn't beat him alone. It was revealled in a later FF issue that Sue Storm was there, and SHE was the reason that the real Thanos won.

First of all, technology (force fields) and energy projection were employed in that fight. By your own rules, it doesn't count.
Secondly, for Champion being the greatest warrior in the universe, he sure was easily beaten by Drax (Dumb) and the Silver Surfer.
thanos went toe to toe with thor with the power gem as well. blow for blow. this is an impressive feat becuz no matter what thanos did he couldnt physically kill him with the gem. so when he tired of it he imprisoned him with his gun.
Yet, again, energy projection was used. And he couldn't defeat that power mad Thor, who HAD been earlier defeated by Beta Ray Bill.
Ultimately, Thanos had to resort to technology in that fight, which would again make it inadmissable by your own rules.
