Not really surprised there.
Narnia had CG animals, hair movements on said animals, all the different creatures and certain facial movements, fire-effects, shit-loads of specific costumes ect.
Bay just had to pay for the individual transformers being made in CG and the usual 'Explosions' .
A few thoughts on the subject of transformers movie:
Someone mentioned sound wave appearing, so who was Blackout supposed to be if not sound wave by another name?
Introducing the constructicons and dinobots would be easy, they could just transfer the whole shockwave genesis story from the original comics.
If absorbing a small amount of energy from the matrix can repair Frenzy or create a whole new transformer, what kind of a transformation might happen if you absorb all of it? GALVETRON!

Liking the thinking, Shade.
well it takes extreme temperatures to keep the transformers in stasis. maybe they'll put it down to global warming 😛
but seriously, they could probably explain it as a result of the allspark being shoved into megatron's chest taking time to reconfigure him (and possibly cause a ripple effect in upgrading some of the other decepticons...scourge and cyclonus anyone?), and when the reconfiguration was complete. one of the major weaknesses of the transformers to extreme temperatures is either reduced or completely removed...which means they'd have to find new weapons and ways to hurt them, which could lead to the introduction of things like the matrix of leadership, shock troops like the dinobots and the combiner units. basically a bigger war.
just hopefully not headmasters and targetmasters...never did like that concept...though it would make a good point about how the autobots embraced other species like humans and how the decepticons view them as "fleshbags" if it was only done with the autobots. but still kinda weird.

I sure hope the writer's strike won't hinder TF 2 much...
