I certainly don't hate americans. In fact when I worked i the airport, I found them the most Polite people of all. Its the only time I've had someone call me sir who was twice as old as me. Of course I'm sure it has it's arse-holes, just as we do in Britain.
Why did the person who started this thread start it anyway? Experienced bad treatment a the hands of some brits?

good point. I heard there was a train that runs under the north sea that connects Belgium and the UK. true?
False
You are thinking of this thing it connects England with France.
Still even with things like that most Europeans travel a hell of a lot further then their neighboring country's. One of the most popular destinations for Dutch people is Spain Specifically the part of Spain where the blue line ends Going from Amsterdam that's still 1300 miles.
Okay you would visit less country's but you could still easily be in Mexico or Canada by travelling the same distance. And that is ignoring all the times that people just get in a plain and fly somewhere.
On the other hand, there is a hell of a lot more to see in the US itself then there is in most European country's so you would have less of a reason to leave the US then Europeans would have to leave their own country. Still distance can hardly be used as an excuse for not going outside of the country.

That is meant that if one does not travel, then that person knows little to nothing of other cultures and places - which makes those people look bad.
Where did that nonsense come from? You can never leave your country and still be educated about other cultures.
Lets be fair, it's not like tourists get a good grasp of what a country is like usually.

Any evidence? I still have seen no reports or documents to state that Americans travel less, or that they travel proportionally less than other geographically isolated countries.
I never claimed that, just saying that if it was the case then distance surely isn't an excuse for Americans.
If it's of use:
Number of people who traveled overseas by air in 2006 from the U.S. was around 10% by population if that helps. 13% traveled outside of the U.S. by air total; according to the OTTI. Although I don't know whether that includes people who are emigrating from the U.S. to other countries or not.

On topic:
As for hating america.....fck off! We don't give a shit and if you hate me as an american then blow me.
The British don't hate Americans on the whole, we just get a kick out of mocking them, it's not a fad, it's been going on for years and it will continue to for years.
You Are 22% American
You're as American as Key Lime Tofu Pie
Otherwise known as un-American!
You belong in Cairo or Paris...
Get out fast - before you end up in Gitmo!
I think the reason why American's don't travel so much is because they're afraid to travel and traveling is rather expensive in thsi country now.
Bush over hypes the whole terrorism thing so damn much over here I think some of the more ignorant people of our country who believe that shit are scared to death. I, personally, have since birth and probably always will be afraid of heights, but yeah...
And as regards to the thread itself, no I haven't been messed with by any Brits, at least not recently. Ironically enough I get mistreated by my own fellow black people more often, because I "talk white". /shrug.
All the Brit's I meet in real life are nice people, it's only when I play games online that they're assholes who boot me all the time 🙁
