Is it a fad in Britain to hate Americans?

I wasn't serious. And ever consider that most can't afford to travel? I sure as hell can't. So drop it. Oh, and Cultural awareness is not the most important form of education.

I think you should actually be serious more often. Because your joke are fvcking awful.
Most can definitely afford to travel, America's a nation that spends billions on consumer goods, of course people can afford it.

Yes but I'm pretty sure the Russians would have destroyed the Nazi's even without England Canada and the US invading Europe.

Ha, I agree. It would have happened eventually, I think. Maybe Operation Barbarosa would have been a lot bigger without the Americans and British to fight on the Western front, but I think Russia would have pulled through. Their T-34's were better than even the Tiger tanks, and they had an almost limitless supply of manpower... and of course, love for the motherland and stuff.

The USA also isn't that far away from many culturally fascinating places, such as south America and Mexico.

It's true, Los Angeles is actually inside U.S. borders!

Most middle class people cannot afford to travel in America. As a Middle Class person, I think I should know. This is a stupid argument, so drop it.

Mate, I've been to America, I lived there for a couple of years. I'm also middle class, I also know how much it costs to travel, and middle class people in America could afford.
No, I won't drop it, I think it's concerning that Americans travel so little. So I don't think it's a stupid argument.

Yes, it is a stupid argument. What's concerning about American's not traveling as much as other countries? Who is it hurting? Oh, that's right, no one.

I'm going to give you the chance to re consider what you've just said, before I respond properly. Hopefully you see something very wrong with it, if not, I look forward to responding.

Do you know how many Americans travel?

Don't be an idiot. Having a queen that no one in this country cares about, and your country cares a lot more about is entirely different from a country where the people don't want to see anything outside of it. People who just don't want to travel, are ridiculously up their own country's arse. Cultural awareness, is, as far as I'm concerned, probably the most important kind of education one can have.

What exactly is your point? American's travel less than other people; if true, who cares? You've been to a few other countries right? So have I, it doesn't make me some enlightened cultural guru.

In other words...

I don't really have an argument but I have to say something and that sounded kinda cool.

It is true. The reason it's concerning is the fact that America has a ridiculous amount of sway over what the rest of the world can and cannot do, and probably the largest influence.
A lot of Americans seem to base other countries solely on stereotypes, it's pretty much just an annoyance.
It would also be nice to feel that Americans actually care for anywhere but America, it would make the rest of the world a lot more friendly towards them, and that's what this thread's about.

What's most ironic about this post is that you are a accusing an entire country of using stereotypes, because of a stereotype.

Where did I ever accuse the entire country?

Seems like you're stereotyping, i.e. 'Greedy self-centered Americans'... Not saying that America does or does not care for other countries, as that's an entirely different argument, but do other countries care for America? Considering your "more friendly" stance, you seem to think not, so why should America care?

Somewhere in that sentence....

Hint: the bold parts are of particular interest.

I think this is getting unduly heated. I'm not stereotyping, I'm going on what I know as fact from statistical evidence, Americans spend a lot of money on consumer products.
To be fair, other countries have to care for America as its actions shape what happens in their own countries. I've got nothing against American people, but I'm trying to entertain why people would.

Well then everyone who dislikes Americans for not traveling as much needs to find a better reason. Not all Americans judge other places by stereotypes, when I say something stereotypical like "Brits sip tea and have bad teeth" I'm not serious.

If I used stereotypes, I apologize. But it's exactly what the people who don't like Americans do, or people who don't like any nation of people really.

Oh I thot you dislike America for the reasons you were mentioning.
